- Also available in an unrated director's cut version, which restores deleted scenes and the violence originally cut for an "R" rating.
- Similar to all prior movies in the "Saw" series, there are at least two versions in general release, the original, R-rated theatrical cut and an Unrated, home video one, labeled 'Director's Cut". Runtimes are, respectively, "1h 32m (92 min), 1h 35m (95 min) (unrated director's cut), although the director had originally announced a difference of 14 minutes would be forthcoming. And again, as usual the unrated version is generally more explicit and graphic in its depictions of violence and the traps, although there is also a difference in shots and angles used, as well as rearrangement of whole scenes, and some scenes removed altogether (to make room for some of the new material), while more detail is added, in general, throughout, and even some plot points altered. As far as editing goes, this is the most thoroughly rearranged film of the first five, something particularly noticeable in the finale.
