Not too sure about this. I didn't quite feel the chemistry from Erin towards Alex, it seemed forced through acting. Perhaps because the script didnt allow for more an emotional development of the characters. Perhaps thats why i didnt feel the attraction. I'm not sure of the age of the actors either, are they mature students or not? They seem to be going through something that people in their early 20's would go through. But they seemed late 30's. It also became too intense too quick, like from 0-100. It didn't quite seem 100% believable. There was no real build up before Erin breaks down, which perhaps why I didn't feel the attraction between the leads. All the emotion when they barely knew each other confused me.

The script could have been evened out, although I did enjoy the music. I'm not sure what people expect from a low budget movie. I wouldn't say I didn't enjoy it, just that it could have been evened out better.

First half was okay, then it got preachy and contrived

The movie started out with a couple of interesting characters experiencing an attraction to each other for the first time. Each had a different way of denying the reality that necessarily eventually confronts anyone who is gay. For a brief moment, I thought I was in for a decent movie, although clearly the acting wasn't A-list.

Then the movie took a turn toward preachy, and everything just got stupid. Especially the scenes involving Erin in the gay self-help lesbian group. It became unbelievably one-dimensional, and I almost couldn't finish watching.

The chemistry between Alex and Erin just wasn't there. I could feel the attraction that Alex had for Erin, but I could never feel the attraction that Erin had for Alex. At least the movie didn't end with the two of them living happily ever after together.

All in all, skip this movie, and save your time for something better.

I don't understand. Aren't we done with shameful gays? It's not the 1950s. They acting like it's illegal. You're in Canada!

Also this sexuality discovery for women in their early twenties might have made sense but these guys look like they're pushing forty. Who told them they looked young enough to play college students?

The straight white male is the only one making any sort of sense for a change.

Additional points: the acting is brutal, the violence between characters is ridiculous, toxic entitlement doesn't make you root for the characters I presume you're meant to get behind, the stereotypes are very 2001.

Bad

This movie was so bad it was laughable.

The plot makes no sense one moment theyre making out and the literal next they yelling at each other at one point one of them was crying in the shower because of a fight they had and out of nowhere the other one appears and starts to make out with her.

Amateur hour

Had any of these cast members ever kissed before? I seriously doubt it, come to think of it, has acting school ever crossed their collective minds!

Among the ten most useless films ever seen and so useless that if I could go back I would prefer to watch the television off, one hour and thirty lost, they made a very simple story to write in a senseless psychopathic mix, if this feature film would have it Written an IA would have written it better, it was a simple story, it was enough just a little coherence and some more dialogue line, in this film we find ourselves in front of a forced and inconsistent, inconsistent and indecipherable story, I hope they did it In mail to try to capture attention trying to irritate the viewer! Because if this work has been deliberately done so it means that you are not capable of writing a script !!

A good story with very poor mechanics

As the writer and director are the same person we are definitely seeing the the artist's. Vision. It is a coming out story for two women that have been denying their own, respective sexualities. A one night stand between them throws not only their worlds into chaos but, their friends lives as well. It doesn't have a story-book ending but, there is truth in that.

THE NEGATIVES: Bad casting choices. 30 to 40 something actors as college students just starting to experience life. Mixing 20, 30 and 40 somethings as a tight knit group of friends-in college. A laser focused / tunnel vision aspect to the scenes in public places. By that I mean the background actors could have been replaced with cardboard cut-outs.

Things that just didn't work: A business major that doesn't understand statistics. A college, never pictured, devoid of other people. The drinking at work scenes for both leads. The two businesses are lacking customers and allow on the job drinking. The dialog for the first half of the movie is as subtle as a chainsaw.

To the author: You told a realistic story and did it well. The emotional subtext comes through in your your work. Comparable to Robert Heinlein's passage on 1 and 1 and 1 don't always equal 3. Please polish your craft, I look forward to you future works.

A very truthful story about self discovery and acceptance

I liked this movie a lot, but I think some think its a love story when that is far from the truth.

The story dealt with some hard facts when dealing with our own sexuality, and it did so with a real world vision instead of movie magic romance.

It left me thinking, yet hopeful.

Basic and Old Fashioned... But In A Good Way??

There are several caveats that need to be put into place for this film.

Firstly, It is so micro-budget it may as well have been shot on a camcorder. The cinematography and the sound mixing are very sub-par.

Secondly, The acting isn't great, and it certainly doesn't help that everyone is supposed to be in college but seems at least a decade too old.

Thirdly, This type of narrative with characters so scared of their sexual identity seems archaic. The attitudes are only slightly advanced from 'Desert Hearts' which was made in the 80s and set in the 50s.

The 'Coming Out' story, or more specifically its sub-genre the 'Coming Out To Yourself' story has been done to death in the English Speaking world and we don't necessarily need another one. Having said that, the by-the-numbers approach that this film has is adequate enough.

Intimate and Sincere

Not bad for a low budget drama

I think films should be judged in the context of their budget - and for a low budget drama, this delivers. It's a story about women struggling with their sexuality.

The film would have felt a little more timely in the 1970s, 80s, 90s, maybe 2000s, but by 2021 it's not as groundbreaking. But not every film needs to break new ground. There is one hot love scene. Worth a look.

Relevant story and important message

It's a great story that's very relevant to our current times. It's makes you want to continue the follow the story after the movie ends. Only drawback is actors aren't convincing as 20 something year olds. Once you get past that it's enjoyable. I would to see how the story continues to unfold.

Pretty amazing

Quite a lovely movie and a treat to watch. Different and engaging storyline. The complicated and tension between lead characters will keep you on the edge if your seat. Very very vivid picture of today's society.

Quite simple story and characters and premise. The songs are just out of the world but quite same sounding. Are you thinking of watching this? If yes then sure go for it it's not disappointing at all it's quite great.

A little different but very intimate setup

I'd say it's a piece of a life kind of story and shows the moments in that specific timeline. The movie has a very intimate setting of few characters and the chemistry between them is present. The friendship and beautiful moments are there and also the romantic parts are also presented beautifully. A little unnecessary explicit scenes for me but they have to sell it to men viewers cuz they love girl stuff. But definitely worth the watch.
