He tells Maeve that the Joss rewrite really sings, and Maeve asks when Homelander is going to stop torturing her. Homelander feigns ignorance, and she asks if Homelander will stop if Maeve promises to never see Elena again. The hero insists that he won't let Maeve throw away the love between her and Elena, because it would be cruel if he did.
Barrett comes over and asks Homelander for a word with him. He talks about how he's impressed by the strong women in the outtakes, Maeve and Ruby, and Barrett hastily agrees and says that she needs an urgent word with him.
Earlier, Homelander flies to an African village, casually kills the tribal leader Supe devastating the place with his power with a blast of laser vision and a nearby bystander as well.\
Barrett shows Homelander video of the bystander's wife crying over her husband's body. He isn't at all upset, and Barrett wishes he had cleared it with her before Homelander flew over there. He says that he had a chance for an easy win and took it, and she warns that there has been some blowback. Barrett tells Homelander that he's down 9.5 points, and in the video there is footage of people at the Tower protesting and declaring Homelander a war criminal.
Homelander is furious that Barrett didn't tell him sooner, and Barrett says that PR is drafting an apology press conference. The hero refuses, and tells Barrett to schedule a press conference and he'll clean it up himself. Barrett tells him that Edgar and Legal want Homelander's official position to be "no comment" for the time being, and wait until the crisis team has an actionable strategy.

Later, Billy goes to a shopping center and buys a pack of frozen peas to put on his bruises. He gets a phone call from Hughie. Hughie is surprised that Billy answered, and tells him that Stormfront is Liberty and probably murdered Rayner. Billy isn't interested, and Hughie says that he's not mad that Billy left the Boys holding the bag but he would do the same thing in his position. Billy doesn't care and buys a stuffed squeaky pig dog toy, and tells Hughie that he might head to Argentina for an early retirement. He tells Hughie that he was always his "canary", and says goodbye before hanging up and takes the SIM card out of his phone so he can't be tracked.

As Bourke walks away, A-Train says that he's not doing the scene as written. The director tells him that it's above his paygrade, and A-Train should take it up with Barrett. Bourke then quickly leaves.

Kimiko comes in and stares at them, and when gangster comes over Kimiko kicks his knee in and rips the skin off his face. She takes down the other two gangsters, killing the second one and shrugging off the third one's shots. After Kimiko kills him, Frenchie comes in and sees the carnage.
Billy and Terror return to Judy's house, and finds Hughie and Milk there. Judy is there as well, and says that Hughie reminds her of Billy's younger brother Lenny. Billy says that Hughie isn't, and says that he's retiring to Argentina. He asks why they're coming there, and Milk explains that Hughie heard the dog toy on the phone. Billy tells them that it's time to go, and Hughie asks Billy to help them with Stormfront. Milk insists that they weren't followed, and Billy says that Black Noir tracked him from Becca's. Billy explains that Becca didn't want him help getting out, and says that they're in trouble. He apologizes to Judy from coming, and Milk figures that if Black Noir wants to kill them, he'll have to do it with an audience.
The Boys call in the fire department and report a gas leak. The firemen order everyone in the neighborhood to evacuate, and Milk has Judy gather the parts for an anti-personnel bomb.
Starlight goes to a set buffet and sees Stormfront talking with Starlight's mother, Donna. Going over, Starlight asks Donna why she's there. Seth and Evan are discussing the relationship in the script between Maeve and Elena. They want to do a complete image makeover for Maeve to emphasize her newly publicized homosexuality. Elena asks Maeve why she's part of the whole thing, and Evan says that they want a more tailored "men's wear" look for her. More Americans are more accepting of gays if they're in a clear-cut gender-differentiated relationship. Elena says that she has no interest of being in a public relationship, and insists that she's not on sale. Maeve remains silent, and Elena walks away. Maeve tells the two men and the watching Barrett that she'll fix it over.
Maeve talks to Elena outside, and Elena makes it clear she doesn't want to be involved. She points out that she's not under contract, and Maeve tells Elena that Homelander is screwing with her and he'll find Elena if she leaves. Maeve says that she can't protect Elena if she leaves, and promises to take Homelander down.
Hughie makes the antipersonnel bomb under Billy direction. Billy is distracted and says that it isn't right that Black Noir came after all of them when he's after Billy, and prepares to go out. He tells Hughie that they aren't going to have a happy ending, and he'll keep Black Noir busy while the others escape. Angry, Hughie says that he isn't impressed with Billy's attitude and at least Billy has a wife but she doesn't want him. He tells Billy that none of them have anyone, and Billy angrily says that he doesn't need Hughie's help. Billy tells Hughie that he latches onto people because he's afraid of being alone, and says that Hughie should just get away from him. Milk overhears Billy talking and comes in, saying that he's not going.
Frenchie follows Kimiko to a church. She goes in and sits down next to Cherie, who hands Kimiko an envelope with payoff. Frenchie confronts them and Cherie says that she's a middleman for the Albanians, who paid her to hire Kimiko to knock off the Russians. Cherie tells Frenchie that Kimiko can make her own choices, and Frenchie tells Kimiko that it isn't the way and it's poison for her soul. He asks her to come with him, and Kimiko shoves him to the floor and angrily signs at him. Frenchie tells Kimiko that he can't understand her because she won't teach him her sign, and walks out in disgust after telling Kimiko to go be a monster. Cherie comes over and gives the money to Kimiko, and Kimiko angrily takes it and walks out.
Deep does a promotional ad for the Church, saying that now he's a man who calls out injustice, and stands up for what's right. Church head Alastair Adana appears with Deep, inviting people to join the Church and become the people they were meant to be. A-Train watches the ad, and Stormfront joins him and says that the Church used to mean something. She says that she used to be a Church member, but then they let all kinds of people in. A-Train asks what she means, and Stormfront says that some people are quality and some are garbage.
Stormfront tells A-Train that she's head they're "retiring" him and it's unfair. A-Train asks if she has a problem, and Stormfront denies it. Barrett comes over and asks A-Train for a word. They talk about the scene A-Train was complaining about earlier, and Barrett assures him that he'll get through his unemployment. A-Train asks her to let him talk to Homelander, and Barrett warns him it won't help.
A-Train insists that he won't say the lines, and Barrett tell him that either he leaves the Seven with his dignity and his severance package. Or he gets fired for shooting up Compound V and breaching his morality contract.
Later, A-Train gives the speech to Homelander, saying that he's leaving the Seven and going home. Once they finish, Bourke and Homelander congratulate A-Train on his performance. The director quickly moves onto the next scene.
Protestors gather outside the Tower, and Congresswoman Victoria Neuman speaks out against Vought. She talks about Homelander's "war crime", and says that the House Judiciary Committee is going to hold hearings on Compound V. Homelander flies down and greets the crowd, takes Neuman's mike, and says that they're not there for fun. Barrett is watching a broadcast of the protest, and stares in shock.
Homelander tells the protestors that he was stopping a terrorist, and says that nobody wants innocent people to get hurt. He says that the bad guys don't think like them, and sometimes things happen. The protestors seize on Homelander's words and ask if it has happened before. Homelander hastily tries to cover over his gaffe and says that their goal is to keep America safe. When a soldier objects to Homelander speaking for the military, the other protestors chant against Homelander.
Furious, Homelander unleashes his laser vision on the protestors, killing them all. He looks at the corpses, then snaps out of his daydream of murder, praises the protestors as heroes, and flies off. Barrett watches the whole thing on her tablet and pulls out some of her hair in shock.
At the suburb, the fireman eventually drive off. Milk watches from the window and figures that it's time, and Judy takes them to her taffy room in the basement. It's filled with the illegal drugs she manufactures, and is a safe room as well.
Homelander retreats into a Tower hallway and watches video of his speech to the protestors. He alternates laughing hysterically and cursing, then goes.
At home, Stormfront calls an orderly at a medical center and insists that "the kid" is a hero. Once Stormfront hangs up, Homelander comes in and checks with Stormfront on the memes that she's had made up for him. She assures him that when people see them, they will work.
The Boys and Judy wait in the taffy room for Black Noir to break into the house. Hughie finally asks Judy who Lenny was, and Judy explains that Billy was Lenny's little brother. He was like Hughie, and in fourth grade a bully broke Lenny's nose and Billy beat the bully up in a fury. Lenny was the one who broke the fight up, leading Billy away, and Lenny had a way of making Billy not be... Billy. Judy suggests that Billy needs someone like Lenny, and starts to explain what happened to Lenny.
The bombs go off, shaking the room, and the Boys realizes that Black Noir entered the house. They hear Black Noir walking through the house, and Terror barks. Billy quiets the dog, and Black Noir drops a smoke grenade into the room via an air duct. The group goes out into the basement, guns drawn, and Billy orders them out via the side door. He then goes back to take on Black Noir.
Billy locks the door behind them so they can't follow, then calls to Black Noir to come out. The Supe steps out and Billy picks up a poker and prepares to fight Black Noir. Milk breaks down the door and comes in, shooting Black Noir. The Supe ignores the bullets, then throws a knife into Milk's chest. Hughie comes in shooting, and when Black Noir grabs his gun hand, Billy hits the hand with the poker.
Shrugging off Billy's blows, Black Noir knocks Billy across the room with one strike. Terror comes out and barks at Billy, and Billy tells Black Noir that if he kills Hughie, Black Noir can kiss his career goodbye. Standing up, Billy says that he has photos of Ryan, Homelander's son. If Black Noir kills any of them, the photos will go to the press and the public will know that Homelander is a rapist who Vought has been hiding along with Ryan.
Black Noir grabs Billy by the throat and slams him against the wall. Edgar calls in via Black Noir's helmet cam and asks Billy how he can know Billy has the proof. Billy tells Edgar that he'll have to take his word. Edgar says that first the evidence never sees the light of day, and in return he'll call off Black Noir. Billy agrees, and Edgar tells Black Noir to go. Milk confirms that he's all right, and Hughie smiles when Billy says that of course he has the pictures.
At a Collective homeless outreach shelter, Deep hands out books instead of food. Maeve comes in and tells Deep that they should talk. She warns him that he'll need a woman to tell everyone that Deep isn't a piece of shit, and she could be that person. Maeve offers to help him if he helps her.
Once Stormfront leaves her trailer, Starlight breaks in and accesses Stormfront's tablet. She finds a number of emails to the medical center, Sage Grove, then turns off the computer as Stormfront comes in. Starlight says that Stormfront had no right to talk to Donna, and asks what she was trying to prove. She says that Donna lied to her about everything, and angrily tells Stormfront not to try and broker a peace between them because Starlight doesn't want it. Stormfront figures that Starlight is giving a performance, and reveals that she knows how Gecko stole the sample and Starlight leaked it to the press.
Starlight threatens to reveal that Stormfront is Liberty, and causes the lights to flicker with her powers. Stormfront is unimpressed, and says that Starlight will be a big help to her. Homelander comes in and asks if he's interrupting. Stormfront says that it's just between girls, and Starlight agrees and leaves.
Once they're alone, Homelander asks what it was all about and Stormfront claims they were just running lines. He tells Stormfront that he's up five points and he owes her.
As the police arrive at the house, Billy says goodbye to Terror. He promises to get Becca back--eventually--and tells the dog to be good. Before he goes, Billy gives Terror the toy and tells the dog to fuck it. Terror does so, and Billy gives Judy a hug before leaving. He then looks at Hughie and smiles, gets in the car, and leaves with Hughie and Milk.
Stormfront shoves Homelander into the wall of the trailer and then kisses him. They slam each other back and forth, and Stormfront invites Homelander to use his laser vision on her breasts. He does so and Stormfront isn't killed. Impressed, Homelander does so and Stormfront savors the pain and chuckles. Stormfront tells Homelander that she doesn't break easy, and Homelander kisses her.
Homelander and Stormfront knock each other around the room and have sex, floating in the air.
