"The Touch" is an American 7.5-minute live action short film from 2007, so this one has its 10th anniversary this year. It is one of the more known works by writer and director Jane Clark and looking at the titles of her other works, namely "Crazy Bitches" and "Meth Head", I am slightly surprised to see "The Touch" is by her as well. This is the story of a young woman who apparently is in love with another woman, but it is not appropriate during that time (it's a period piece), so we see the last encounter of the woman before one is leaving with her husband for good. Anyway, there is some sensuality in here, but story-wise it is really nothing special and honestly the references about real character like writer Renee Vivien, who also wrote the poem we hear by the narrator, is not enough. Honestly, from what we see here it could have been about almost anybody. Overall maybe if you are a horny hetero male then there are reasons for which you can appreciate this film, but great characters, story-telling or a memorable plot are not any of these. I give it a thumbs-down. Not recommended.
