"The babies have everything we don't have" - Mady
PudgyPandaMan12 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This was filmed in July 2007. The Gosselins like the Fourth of July almost as much as Christmas. They are going back to Jon's hometown in Wyomissing, PA. They have argued all week, but Kate has prevailed against taking the strollers. She says the sextuplets are 3 and can follow directions, so they can walk and they will use the "leash line" with rings.

Getting out the door is a chore with 8 kids. Jon is unusually stressed and anxious to leave. He keeps snapping at Kate "We have to leave!" It feels cool outside for July and Kate asks Jon if he packed thin jackets. He did, but she asks to see them because she doesn't trust his judgement. They are almost all dirty or don't fit. She goes back in to get more jackets. Jon insists they have to leave. Mady whines that she doesn't have a jacket and "The babies have EVERYTHING we don't have."

Kate is upset that she spent money on outfits that no one will see because the kids have to wear jackets. This is the first time they have used the leash in public. The kids mostly whine and cry at first, but they adjust. Jon is happy to see old friends from his hometown.

They all sit on the curb to watch the parade. The kids start screaming and fighting when parade marchers start tossing candy. Kate doesn't let them eat any because they will fight over who gets what. But the kids sneak some anyways. When its time to leave. the kids cry over who gets to hold what color ring on the leash line. The kids are screaming so loud that Kate tells passersby to just plug their ears. She finally decides to bribe the kids with candy if they will be quiet - and it works. They walk about 6 blocks to a picnic spot on a lawn.

Then its off to Beth and Bob's house to swim in their pool and to have a cookout. They say Beth and Bob are their best friends and spend a lot of time at their house (funny, you don't see them anymore on recent episodes). Because its raining, they decide to only let Cara and Mady swim, and none of the little kids. Jon wants to ride the 4-wheeler and insists Kate ride with him. Kate admits she is strictly an "indoors girl (spas and malls)", but she goes anyway.

The family has a fun day. Kate is amazed that the sextuplets are 3 and that they can be on the go more now that they are older.

I think the best part of this episode was seeing Beth and Bob's estate. The whole pool area with the stone terrace and the extensive landscaping is amazing. WOW!
