Although this drama hasn't finished airing, I feel compelled to write a review to express the delight I have within me. There haven't been any Asian romance dramas that I was particularly interested in over the last few years, or should I say, decades...but this show has me speechless. From the acting to the plot, everything is just so well put together and it really touches you as it brings forth the emotional aspect. This Taiwanese drama sets a whole new standard, raises the bar, and truly deserves international recognition for its accomplishment.

Splendid acting and MASTERPIECE in storytelling

Someday or One Day is by far one of the best romance time travel show I've ever seen. I don't say this lightly, as I have seen Back to the Future, Tenet, Undone, Doctor Who, Timeless, 11.22.63 (book too), Your Name, Looper., Source Code...to name a few. I am not new to the subject matter, but Someday, Or One Day not only superbly grasp the time travel element, but it also tugged at my heartstrings every step of the way..
The plot is both beautifully complex yet uniquely intricate. I was captivated from episode one and the show never let go. It wove together different people, multiple timelines and stories in a way that makes you think and feel. Give if your full attention, as any less is an injustice to the hard work that went into putting this together.
The acting is beyond words. Alice Ko (if you ever read this review) you did such an outstanding performance that I am left in awe. The rollercoaster ride of emotions is very much in part with her amazing performance. Greg Hsu, Patrick Shih and the entire cast all stunned in their respective supporting roles. All the tiny facial expressions and character manners are so perfectly captured.
The pacing is on perfect. It didn't feel rushed, it didn't feel like it dragged on. It let the story unfold a piece by piece. Each episode is a story on it's own, just enough for that episode, yet each episode gave you a pieces to take you to the ending. I always enjoyed how Breaking Bad deal with it's storyline and pacing, and I felt similar appreciation here.
I didn't grow up in Taiwan, but the music made me feel like I did and also made me feel like I was in that time period. The carefully crafted props, costumes and sets really helped to craft this element as well.
I am also impressed by the sets and shooting schedule. As someone who works in film, I kept floating back to wondering their schedule and how this was shot. I would love a chance to discuss this with crew one day as the complexity is inspiring.
Lastly and frankly, I don't enjoy watching many Chinese dramas, as I hate over dramatic acting, clichés, tropes and cheesiness. So please believe me when I say this, this show did not do that It's thoughtful, well pieced together, perfectly balanced and very witty.
If you made it to the end of my long review, please do yourself a favor and go watch this. You may find yourself travelling through time/space.

The perfect combination of romance and science fiction

I have just finished watching this show and honestly it shocks me. I rarely watched any romantic tv shows but this one is different. It has the science fiction element in it and the logic is perfect! Every move of the characters are reasonable that I do want to know what happens next. More importantly, besides the time travelling, everything in this show is so real, we can feel it somewhere in our own life. the show also has a somewhat deep dive into the discussion about compassion, humanity which makes the show even better. I would highly recommend it!

" Someday or one day " was an exceptional drama.
Honestly, most of the drama from Taiwan that I've watched were a bit boring, except from the comedies. So, I was not really looking forward watching this, or even picking it up. Plus, there was a lot of buzz around it, which mostly means that the drama is just popular and not that good. So, for those second thinking watching this because of its popularity, my advise is to give it a try.
The drama combined my favourite genres, melodrama (and boy did it have lots and lots of dark themes, tragedy, drama, pain and angst), school romance (first love, youth, innocence, freshness, sweetness) and mystery (with lots and lots and lots of twists that didn't really tire the viewer). The plot was beautifully presented, with things getting confusing at times, but if you stick to it, they do explain things and, in the end, the conclusion is satisfying and original. So, the story was great, with many leyers and a solid mystery and an intense romance.
The characters were realistic, as well, and they didn't overeacter, which I appreciated a lot. For example, the girl didn't start obsessing and dramatising things, clinging on the boy, even though she had been looking for her boyfriend who looked exactly like him for years, missing him like crazy. On that note, the leading lady was perfect, and she did an amazing job with the two characters. Her 2019 one was actually very likable and entertaining. The comedy moments were much appreciated too. I am actually surprised about how the writers have managed to create such complex storyline and not confuse the viewers ( or at least not too much)
This story has friendship, time travel, love, mystery, murder, and covers a lot of hot topics like mental health issues, depression and homophobia.
It might seem confusing and overwhelming but it is not, not one bit, you won't be able to look away from the screen and keep rooting for the mains characters to beat all odds and defeat a fate that seems inevitable.
Very fast pace, drawing and so different from anything else you have seen.
The ending was a bit unsatisfactory for me but I decided to give the highest rating regardless because it was carried out so brilliantly for 13 episodes, it was unfair to rate it lower just because It wasn't my favorite finish.
Watch this, you won't regret it.

This show was recommended to me by a friend and I am so glad I watched it! I haven't really figured out how to review tv, I normally review books, so I'm sorry if this short review is a bit all over the place or too vague.
The characters were great, you could really tell the difference between Chen Yun Ru and Huang Yu Xuan, her storyline along with everyone else's was interesting. There wasn't a storyline that I found boring or wanted to skip. The writers and director really did an amazing job with this one!
I saw a lot of comment about people being unable to follow the story when they were in the past or future but I think that if you're really paying attention then you can easily see the difference. There's a difference in setting, hairstyles, clothing, even some editing differences, they did a really good job making this as mysterious, interesting, confusing and easy to follow...Which sort of makes sense, just trust me on this.
I do highly recommend everyone give this drama a shot because it is really worth it, in my opinion.

The script is great and the acting is surprisingly good. I'm usually not a big fan of drama shows but this one is different. It's not only romance but with time travel, the story is appealing and the cast is really good. It's the best asian tv shows in my opinion so far.

When time travel added for some stories, usually it comes to 2 results. feeling confused or superb. this drama hooked me up at 2nd episode. i find 1st episode kinda boring but later was mind blowing. Awesome story, excellent acting although the cinematography didn't fulfill my expectation but still acceptable. Seriously this drama deserve more hypes.
Ps: Go in blind to watch this drama, don't search any spoiler or unnecessary trailer. JUST WATCH, ENJOY THE RIDE!

Incredible!!! You would feel that your time of watching it is worthy. It is an amazing series, one of the best series I've ever seen!
Storyline: perfect! Before I watched it, I read some reviews about it, and I therefore thought that I knew everything about it. But I was wrong! Every episode kept me surprised! I always wondered what was going to happen next, I couldn't help missing any detail or any moment of the series, they were all meaningful. I give 10/10 for this storyline!!! I have to say that I've not seen any series or movies with many big twists like this series!
Actors and actresses: they are all perfect for the series, you will not be confused any of them! Of course, the main man character is definitely handsome. His smile is shining :))
Watch it now! I bet you will like it as much as I do!

The plot is one of the most interesting that I have watched from any Asian drama.
The story is crisp because it has only 13 episodes so there was noway to get it dragged by unnecessary emotional dramatic scenes. The story moved fast but each scene was moved at a perfect pace.
Plot: While grieving the loss of her boyfriend, a young woman time travels and wakes up in the body of a 17-year-old girl who is not the same woman.
Screenplay: Although the plot is quite confusing but once the mystery unfolds its just simple..so I just enjoyed whatever it was shown. The screenplay is so good that it make it easy for people to understand, instead of having the need to rewind and watch couple of times to understand.
There are no loose strings, and by the time I finished the drama, I understood everything that had happened.
Acting: Although the screenplay is the MVP of the drama but I felt like the acting played an important role too. They all pulled off their characters so well, especially the actors who had to play multiple characters.
This drama will tear your heart out, leaving you absolutely believing in soulmates, people who are destined to be together.
My expectations are too high now. I don't know what to watch. This is what this drama did to me. This drama will make you wonder if you'll ever watch anything this good again.

This has been on my watchlist for years but I am still happy I watched it right on time before the movie came out. The combo is the best! Show+ movie made me feel better. The show has to be the best one in timetravel romance genre I have watched so far! It is on point and they explain everything so wonderfully. They tied all the loose ends may be except for 1 minor one which is still fine with me. Also talk about character development it feels like anime lol. The actors have done a brilliant job each and everyone of them - this has to be my #1 Taiwanese show without any doubt! The characters LZW and XY are the best couple in drama universe for me. I mean both are so perfect for each other and I love every bit of this show. The OST's are amazing. Wu Bai's last dance got stuck in my head right from the start - it is true you think of someone when you listen to certain song and this one will magically take you to SOOD dreamland. The script/plot, dialogues are written so well - there are so many scenes that makes your heart beat and then some that makes it pop out so you don't feel like breathing anymore. This show has put all the emotions into it so you will feel it in every part of the show! If you have'nt watched this you are certainly missing out on the best underrated show about love, friendship,sacrifices and yearning and a lot of valuable things/lessons. By far the best show I have watched. I could not get over it for 2 days until I watched the special 5 mins scene and then the movie! It was all worth it. Highly highly recommended!

I learned about this show from my Taiwanese friend, and I'm glad I watched it. Many time-traveling plot has big loopholes, but not "someday or one day". The story plot is reasonable and makes sense. I am impressed by this TAIWANESE show. NOT Thailand, TAIWANESE. You have to pay attention when you watch this show because the storyline is nothing like other time-traveling stories. This show gives you romance, friendships, family love, and a thrilling mystery to solve. Although some part is a bit slow, and I wanted to fast forward, when you stay patient to rewatch it, it always means something. The clues are hidden in the story.
The songs in this show are also very nice. The ML and FL actings are also outstanding. There is nothing I don't like about this drama. I highly recommend it.

This drama ranks 1st in my list of favorite dramas. I have re-watched this movie 5 times and will have many more times, the more I watch it, the better it gets, and understand the many meanings that the movie brings. About the main character couple (Li Zi Wei - Huang Yu Hsuan) they don't need to show much, but we can all feel their sincere feelings for each other. And there is also another couple (Mo Jun Jie - Chen Yun Ru) Chen Yun Ru, who is always somber and quiet with a longing for understanding, and Jun Jie, who has liked Yun Ru since the first meeting and just wants to be someone who understands her. Besides, there are meaningful stories surrounding them. About his friend Wang Chuang Sheng, who wished that one day the world would be different so that when he fell in love with anyone, it would not be weird anymore, 'cause he was bullied by his friends and by the boy he liked when they found out he was gay. And there are also beautiful memories of Zi Wei, Jun Jie, Yu Hsuan, and Yun Ru's friendship. Also, I would like to recommend to you some songs from this movie: Last Dance - Wu Bai, Xiangjianni Xiangjianni Xiangjianni - 831, Someday or One day - Shi Shi. You won't find yourself wasting time with this drama and songs.
