This is the first ESRB M-rated COD game due to featuring more blood, and one scene of a severed arm. In spite of this, the violence is somewhat dated and isn't very graphic. Mature preteens could handle it.

The game is overall pretty tame but when you have blood turned on when you shoot people in the head there is blood on the wall behind them.

The whole game is a first-person shooter, and over a hundred men are killed by your hands.

Infrequent moderate language such as sh*t, damn and its variants (e.g. goddamn), hell, and ass and its variants (e.g. a*shole)

There's a moment which involves some one about to say the F word, but he's cut off.

This game has the same amount of cussing as a pg 13.

In the mission "Crew Expendable", Captain Price is briefly seen smoking a cigar.

In "Game Over", Griggs mentions a glass of beer in the intro.

During the campaign, you can see the enemies soldiers execute civilians on the street. This sequence happens for a very short time however.
