Season 5 wraps up
safenoe16 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Season five ended prematurely because of the pandemic. I'm only now catching up on Superstore, so it's travelling back in time to see what impact the pandemic had on sitcoms and pretty much everything else on television and in the movies and theater and the words. If the pandemic hadn't happened, then California Part 2 would have been the season five finale.

The choice that Amy had to accept the corporate headquarters position was quite moving, as she originally wanted to fight the power, but individually she had years and years of experience that propelled her to apply for the corporate position.

Amy's career jump is simply ridiculous

Warning: Spoilers
This whole story around Amy's career development is beyond ridiculous. Obviously writers of this show has never worked for a corporate and they have no idea how corporations work.

Basically Amy goes from floor worker to store manager and then she gets promoted to director in corporate office in 2 steps. She basically jumps 6-7 salary grades in one promotion and another 3-4 salary grades in the next promotion. She basically gets 6-7 promotions in 2 steps without any college degree or anything to show for just by taking a 1 day training seminar once. She might as well become the CEO of the corporate and become the president of the US at this level.
