It's so different from the book series, I was beyond excited to see part two, but i was slightly disappointed . I hope that they come up with a part 3 and its juicers!! Everything was OVERLY predictable...

The story could have been stronger, the acting was ok, but i couldn't care less when someone got killed off, the characters weren't likeable enough, the stupid Rap music { if you call it music} spoils the movie, you cringe every time it blasts out, the male actors look and dress like pimps, and the females all with ugly large arses try to look sexy, lol, the movie is ok for a rainy weekend, but not much else.
Watchable, but that was also just about it...

I sat down to watch the 2020 thriller "True to the Game 2" here in 2022, as I had stumbled upon the movie by random chance. And with it being a movie that I hadn't already seen before, I opted to watch what writer Preston A. Whitmore II had to offer.
Granted, I haven't seen the first movie in this franchise, so I don't know how true this 2020 "True to the Game 2" was to the original movie. Nor do I know how much of part 2 is a continuation of part one, aside from the flashbacks throughout the course of the movie.
The storyline told in "True to the Game 2" was adequate. I mean, it was watchable, sure, but it wasn't exactly a riveting movie experience. And as for this being a thriller, well that might be stretching the term a bit, as there wasn't exactly much of anything exciting or thrilling taking place on the screen as the movie trotted on.
The acting performances in the movie were actually fair, and that helped carry the movie quite a long way, as the storyline itself wasn't all that impressive. It was nice to see Vivica A. Fox in the movie, and she was actually the only one in the movie that I was familiar with.
While I managed to sit through the entire movie, then director Jamal Hill didn't exactly churn out a movie that will have me returning to watch it a second time.
My rating of "True to the Game 2" lands on a less than average four out of ten stars.

The first true to the game was authentic and entertaining. This one is overly cast with celebrities and not entertaining at all, almost like it was thrown together in a few days and the storyline is all over the place.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible even the acting sucked. Just met this dude , he takes her out on a yacht now she open. Gina got bank and a yacht impressed her. COME ON REALLY..And the music did suck...They needed more Rotomi

If I could give this movie negative stars then I would. However, I will settle with zero stars! This was a deep disappointment from what I experienced from the first movie. The acting did not get good until the very end.

One of my biggest issues with this series of films is the main character (Gena) is treated almost as a side character to the crime narrative. Her character isn't experiencing growth through a strong dramatic arc and continues to be involved in situations where things are happening to her rather than her making something happen herself. For what it was, it works decent enough as a crime thriller but isn't worth writing home about. The resolution felt rushed and had a number of implausible occurrences in it. Acting is again decent but nothing special. It's cool that there were fans of the first movie but there was an excess of unneeded celeb cameo appearances for me. Also, as with the predecessor, the film looks good from the technical standpoint. Well shot, edited, characters well styled, music blends quite well and is rarely overdramatic. Film sequels should open us up to new dimensions of the characters and their narrative inhabited universe and expand on the original. This doesn't do so at all. It just comes off as a cash grab for fans of the genre. If it's the type of films you're into, you could do worse than this one but also better. Much, much better.

A Film Boosted by the Excellent Performance of Andra Fuller

This film essentially begins with a drug dealer by the name of "Jerrell" (Andra Fuller) having $1 million worth of drugs stolen from him by several armed women. Needless to say, the one person who survived the shootout named "Titus" (Malik Barnhardt) is not too keen on telling Jerrell this bad news--especially since Jerrell has brought his main enforcer "Saleem" (Jeremy Meeks) to the meeting with him. However, his life is spared when he recounts that one of the women seemed to have a connection to his dead rival "Quadir Richards" (Columbus Short). Knowing this, Jerrell immediately concludes that either Quadir's former right-hand man "Rasun" (Jamaar Simon) or his former fiancé "Gena Rollins" (Erica Peeples) has some inside knowledge of what transpired. And after killing Rasun, he becomes even more obsessed with tracking down Gena at all costs. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that--as is often the case with sequels--this film wasn't quite as good as its predecessor. Even so, I still found it to be rather entertaining due in large part to the excellent performance by Andra Fuller and to a lesser extent that of both Erica Peeples and Vivaca A. Fox (as "Shoog"). That being said, while certainly not a great crime-drama by any means, I found it well worth the time spent and I have rated it accordingly. Slightly above average.

This movie is so good! I don't care what anyone says. The storyline , the acting, plus the graphic violence (SPOILER ALERT) is on point. PLUS VIVICA was the cherry on top ! Watch this movie on your own time or with someone. (Not for kids at all tho I will say). So I wouldn't recommend watching it with a child but anyways yeah , I loved it and I watched it with my best friend n we really enjoyed it so I would watch It again and again. A lot of people are so quick to leave a bad review because they automatically assume it's going to be bad because of the quality or whatever they want to assume..
