CHEESY AF

I could barely make it through two episodes.

The illegal drug trade has long provided material for many fictional/non-fictional programs. In my opinion, the best way to cover this fascinating topic, is to focus on the humanity behind the subjects (smugglers, dealers, users, cops).

The WORST way to cover this genre, is by trying to overdramatize and romanticize the content. Unfortunately, that is what this series does.

Through eye-rolling (totally scripted) visual montages, or by adding ridiculously over the top music/sound effects to accompany the American tabloid style of narration, this viewer was left with a permanent raised eyebrow.

It feels like those involved with the trade, were instructed to act as clownish as possible, in front of the camera. Slow-mo posing with guns and money? Check. Slow-mo shots of breaking down the drugs, for the street? Check. Talking about how hard they are? Check. Cringeworthy commentary about "the life"? Check. Using a trap beat over every visual cutaway? Check.

If you like your documentary style programs to feature zero substance, you'll enjoy this.

Otherwise, there are plenty of other sources which have covered this topic, much more accurately.

Terrible "dramatic" voice acting.

I thought this kind of "war on drugs" silliness presented in an annoying, almost comedic manner was a thing of the past. Sadly not.

Warning: Spoilers
Tell me, how come NONE of the interviewed people dont have any gang tattoos? or any tattoos at all, only the people that you saw blurred out on the police scenes so why there werent any interviewed people with blurred tattoos.

Also, get this. On one of the scenes talking about the smuggler, he actually has two blank guns which costs 30 and 50 euros a piece. In the slide it says "9mm pak" and both were "Bruni" brand, which is really bad quality pot metal even for the illegal gun smiths to make anything.

They of course then tried to show how two bullets had other one modified, but the directors obviously dont know jack about that stuff in reality like in Russia theres traumatik blank guns which are basically rubber guns. So theres people who ACTUALLY know about this stuff, the tip of the "bullet" was simply just way too small for the 9mm barrel so the directors ALMOST (sarcasm) thought they can get away with actors and fake stuff.

I can guarantee that 10% of this show is "Real", and those are the cop scenes where they actually go on busting criminals. Also like two of the low ranking favela guys, this show has so many SMALL things wrong that im not even going to waste my time any more than that writing about.

But then again, somebody who has only watched criminal movies instead of doing anything bad as a kid probably buys this stuff 100%. Which of course isnt a bad thing, but the writers and directors using that to make complete garbage IS a bad thing.

Oh yeah, and like the other people has already said... The ridiculous overdramatizing music, narration, visual effects and such makes it annoying and hilariously bad. Just complete garbage, the people who had produced this has probably used more than anybody sold during the making of this show. Netflix, SERIOUSLY.

All In all it was alright if it wasn't for the over the top acting and camera shots and cheesy music.

You can tell most of them are paid actors to look tuff and say f the po, other scenes are real but very few. For a Netflix original drug show you'd think it would be more realistic but that's the most it was lacking. Wasn't amazing but wasn't awful. Would not buy it or watch it again being completely honest.
