Same old same old

Take it for what it is. There should be a big picture yet we can not see. Hope to see some real conclusion to this mess for the last 3 episodes.

Ganesh? Where'd he come in?
pauleskridge13 March 2024
Seven stars. Lots of moving bits here. Threads are being drawn together. It's as if the writers are finally finding a sense of urgency to get on with things. We continue to hit the actual story-beats in Lakeside. Although Ganesh showing up is pretty damn arbitrary. Danny Trejo continues to be awesome.

Cordelia (I keep wondering if that name-choice is foreshadowing) is a great add-on character. Having more humans in the story grounds it for we, the mortal audience. That's why Salim is such a good addition as well. He continues to be the best part of the Salim/Laura story. His negociation scene is just glorious. Sad to say, the Bilquis story is turning into progressive agitprop. Politics always weakens a good story. That's just as true here as it is in Clint Eastwood movies. And, we finally see, Tyr isn't an affable, retired war god. And he isn't about to forgive Odin. 13 March 2024.

It's all starting to come together...
jdfoz2 March 2021
As it was with season 2, it wasn't until the later episodes when everything started to make sense. This has very much turned into an overarching series where each season is, while slow, building to something grand. Last season it was Mad Sweeney's stand, this season, while yet to discover, is something huge. Aside from being expertly shot (which we are spoiled by as it's now a trademark of the series), this episode contained a few gorgeous moments (though there was quite a bit of exposition and more plot points thrown in, it's more of a nitpick considering how good the rest of the episode is). The last 10 minutes, between the use of riddles that were set up earlier, and the amazing score, masterfully created a haunting, horror-like atmosphere, along with a fascinating yet enlightening reveal, and I'm hyped to see what they do over the next few episodes.

Found my passage back to Lakeside.

People are confused this season , but everything is coming together. It's going to be a 10 part journey , am glad it finally came back on ,all episodes were filmed in 2020. Every episode is a small story to tell , and some are slow and weak but some are meaningful and get to the burning point , fire and ice describes this episode to the tee. Like the old story says never trust anyone , and especially those , that use to be your friends. Never make an agreement especially when it could cost your life , Again.

What's going on?
albertocrosi1 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Is this whole season just a bunch of filler episodes or am I just not seeing the whole picture? The whole Demeter arc was absolutely pointless, nothing set in the first two seasons has progressed in any meaningful way. Wendesday is still trying to get followers (and now this thing with this...demon? Why? Is this going to be like Demeter or is this gonna have some consequences?), Shadow is literally running in circles in Lakeside having random visions he never questions in any way (why didn't he ask Wednesday about them? It's like he forgets them the second they end), Laura is just...boring, Salim only wants to find the Djinn, Mr World changes is appearance for absolutely no reason other for having guest appearances, Bilquis is a walking digression on African culture, Technical Boy is somewhy glitched just because...seriously what the hell is going on here? Is this going forward some kind of resolution? Am I not seeing something?

What went wrong with this series?
namstonk28 February 2021
So yet more of nothing. A stupid disco dance scene that was nausea inducing and long winded. Turning into a teen romance drama. So much for godlike action, in fact what action?

Seriously?

Warning: Spoilers
Did they just show rapid flashbacks at the end to show us what was happening? Did they really? I just watched my fav show with a magnificent , mesmerizing first season to be diminished to horrible cinematography , writing and editing of nonsense. I hope I can get something out of last episodes at least. I am definitely gonna reread the book to clean my palette.

Another lost chapter
xtremos-100-4592922 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Boring. They continue giving 3 good minutes and fullfilling with 40 minutes of nothing. How can it be possible to change from season one? How many people they have to loose in the road? No mention about another character dead by society (Manson).
