Attempts Were Made

First of all, the 7 was awarded almost entirely on songs alone. The music choices were great, and the club clientel was an olive branch. An attempt to show diversity. A salute to queer Pride. Also, I liked that Alice saved Kate and Mary.

Fun and Cool

An all around great episode. The only real flop was the villain of the week. She was mainly mediocre. Which was a shame as she gave Batwoman a run for her money fighting wise. Alice was well acted with her trying to take in Kate's decision to let Beth live and not her. Her own dialogue to herself was well acted as it was sort of sad. Then in the end she believes putting Mary's life in danger then saving her life should prove to Kate that she made the wrong decision. Which just tells you how twisted her thinking is. While Kate at first tries to justify her choice to Alice out of guilt, later upon learning that she put Mary in harms way she has some cold choice words for Alice, all intended to hurt her. The look on Alice's face was one of veiled frozen horror. It was well played by both actresses'. Sophie, to me, became more likable when she risks her job and helps out Batwoman and really roots for her. I love the look on her face when she sees that Batwoman got away quickly. Her choices about everything, up till now, have been very wish-washy. I think she sees Batwoman as a personal hero because she represents everything that Sophie wish's she could be. Free. Which she doesn't feel. Commander Jacob Kane continues to be unlikable to me, as he always seems grumpy or on a power trip. Wish they would do more for his character. My favorite moment of the episode besides the club opening with it's awesome music and Luke's glow in the dark tie was: Mary puts the pieces together and realizes Kate is Batwoman! I look forward to how this plays out. 9.7/10
