What Tom Selleck expects of his kids
bkoganbing9 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Usually it's Donnie Wahlberg who is doing something not politically correct that gets him in trouble. In this Blue Bloods episode it's Will Estes the play by the rules sergeant that's the bad boy here.

Two of his officers get abused when a pail of water is dumped on them. They retreat rather than get involved in an incident that could cost them job and pension. Estes finds the perpetrator and does unto him likewise only it's taped. He gets the admiration of the rank and file, but a reprimand from Dad.

Wahlberg and Marisa Ramirez catch a string of assaults and one turns to murder of senior citizens. A real lowlife punk played by Thom Niemann who likes beating up on the elderly is the perpetrator. The Creator/Deity gave him a vicious streak, fortunately not a set of brains though. The kind of perpetrator you love seeing getting taken down.

Bridget Moynahan gets an old case of her's taken up by the Innocence Project specifically her ex-husband. Brandon Mendez Homer is a real hard case gangbanger, but is he really innocent?

One way or another all the Reagan children deal with the standard that being a Reagan is expected from them in this story.

the review saying "whiny" cops needs to do a ride along
MiketheWhistle21 March 2020
This is taken from the headlines except it's much tamer. In real life the acts against NYPD are much more serious but it's good for a show to present the matter.

Police risk their lives every time they go on patrol. It can come from an accident, from taking a risk to save someone from a fire, or having to subdue a suspect. Are there bad cops - yes, but they are not the norm. When an officer breaks the law, they should be held to the same standard, or even higher, than a civilian. But that also means the police deserve to be respected for the job they do. A lot of people don't now how many police also served in the military as MPs. Almost without exception they are treated with respect for that job, but not for doing a largely comparable job at home and that is wrong (MPs in war zones don't do quite the same job although there is overlap).

This show highlighted wrongs against police as well as the police overstepping. As much as I might like what Jamie did, he was wrong and Frank was right. And the what Frank knows because of his wisdom is the wrong message it sends and that a small step over the line is too far.

Not in Chicago
lfreepartner23 December 2021
I seriously pity any fool who would think they could dump water on a Chicago Police Officer and not receive the hardest legal recourse available to the cops on the scene.

In Chicago at least 4 more cop cars would arrive within seconds and a police state would be declared and whoever's doing the damage would have no chance.

Love your show, but the writers don't know the hardness of real Police.

Show about whiny cops being whiny.
ScottInFWB13 November 2019
Every episode this show just gets worse and worse. It glosses over the gross abuses of the cops and forgives them for their crimes while taking the hardcore stance of cops can do no wrong. This entire show is nothing but flagrant copaganda.
