Believe the low ratings.
mDanHam17 July 2021
So, less than 2 weeks after viewing this amateurish, low-budget mishmash, I couldn't even remember the title or what the movie was about without researching my rental history to refresh my memory. Something about vampires, a group of young people shooting a documentary, a girl's disappearance, and...Abraham Lincoln?! It looks like it was made by college students on spring break and edited with a Cuisinart. Yeah, in this case, trust the overall 2.5* rating on IMDb.

Not Another One...
AESP_pres23 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
A woman disappears at a funeral parlor... a journalist and her crew came there to interview some guy about a Lincoln kidnapping attempt during the secession war... two of the crew members are there to find the woman who vanished... the interviewee is a vampire (no spoiler here, it's very obvious)... everybody die.

What the hell all that had to do with Amityville? God only knows, your guess is as good as mine...

Low budget with awful CGI and bad acting, I have seen worst but at best it's a 3/10 movie.

Oh Amityville
BandSAboutMovies29 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Amityville Harvest might be set in Amityville - which is more than so many in the series can say - but it also has a vampire that encounters a documentary crew so it was none of that whole "is it supernatural or not?" questions that the series usually deals with. Then again, there have been Amityville sharks and werewolves now, not to mention Amityville Vampire.

This time, the aforementioned documentary crew visits the home of a man who says that he has a story to tell about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. It turns out that Vincent Miller (Kyle Lowder, who was on Days of Our Lives as Brady Black for two decades) is a former Confederate soldier turned vampire who doesn't show up on anything the crew records, which is a nice touch.

There are also ghosts and zombies, in case this movie needed more things to happen, as well as Yan Birch from The People Under the Stairs and the face of Pazuzu Eileen Dietz.

It's also one of three Amityville movies that Thomas J. Churchill has directed and written for Lions Gate, who really seem like they should be above such matters. That's probably why everyone watches - and talks about - the director's 2014 movie The Day of the Living Dead.

I guess there's something for everyone unless you're, you know, looking for an actual Amityville movie.

You're kidding, right?

Couldn't finish it. It was THAT bad. My wife and I rented this from a Redbox at Publix and saw that it was a Lionsgate film. We were sold right there. How bad could it be? Painfully bad, my friends. The acting was a joke as was the plot. I don't want to use spoilers...it's just not my thing. I've seen other Amityville movies and this one did not fit. I appreciate the director of this film trying to put a spin on this...but...no. Fail...EPIC fail. I saw the whole 9 reviews. 2 of them were 10's. Don't buy into it, folks. They are fake reviews made by either the directors or producers or members of their families. This is pure garbage. Do NOT waste you time or money on this. Peace.

As bad as it gets
kennyk0024 October 2020
Why Lionsgate & Grindhouse choose to distribute some truly terrible movies doesn't make much sense. I rarely give a 1/10 rating but this was so difficult to watch, it was 93 minutes too long. Every absolute thing about this movie was terrible, it was like a version of House on Haunted Hill but 100 times worse. Afterwards i watched the new Tremors movie which was an Academy Award winner compared to this nonsense.

Can I get my 5.99 back?
tkjohanson3 November 2020
I only rented this because Kyle Lowder was in it. Trailer made it look more interesting than it actually was. Waste of time. Storyline didn't seem to relate at all. Felt like I was watching several types of horror films in one. No relation to the real Amityville Horror movie. Some pretty bad acting by some of the actors/actresses. Not worth the $5.99 rental.

Do not watch this film
AH19763 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This film is so unbelievably bad, the main character is probably supposed to be a 'brooding elder type vampire' but just comes across as boring and monotone.

The script is dreadful and in makes no sense at all. The vampire invites a film crew to his house to tell a story he wants told, and then kills them all anyway.

Some of the sets are laughable, there's a scene in a bar that looks like it was filmed in someone's lounge, and a scene in a basement that looks like it's filmed in a disused bar.

The worst part of this movie is the actual 'horror'. Movies like this need to either be creative with the deaths, or in some way actually scary, this is neither.

Garbage
michaelmason1121 October 2020
How in any way this is connected to the other films in the series is beyond me. The acting, effects, and plot are absolute trash disguised behind what seems like a high quality production. The creators of this film have lost the plot, quite literally. One and a half hours completely wasted, time I could have used doing absolutely anything else would have been more enjoyable.

It's movies like this that make me wish there was some form of punishment for the makers, maybe having to sit through this twice.

0.2/10 (0.2 for Otis's performance, truly hilarious)

Amityville is still haunting
shagee797725 October 2020
The Amityville Harvest is Writer/Director Thomas J Churchill journey into the long running franchise.

The premise in this installment is original. A documentary crew set up in a creepy mansion to do research on its liquor smuggling sketchy history. The documentary team is led by Christina (Sadie Katz). I was at first apprehensive when I read it was a documentary crew. I panicked and thought was a found footage. Thank god was not. Okay now back to review.

They are there to interview the creepy Vincent Miller, who is a vampire. The interview is about what really happened to Abraham Lincoln. But problems arise immediately. Issues of sound and picture of him are impossible. Then mysterious encounters soon happen to the members of the team.

Vincent's creep factor, surroundings and company he keeps are all fun ingredients of what's ahead. Vincent even owns the local funeral parlor. Wandering around are his mute funeral parlor assistant and demons in every corner murdering people.

The standout performance here is Vincent played by Kyle Lowder. He is one freaking creepy actor. Everyone did a great job. Sound lightning and the creature effects were really good. Story and Direction were really well done. For a series that's has been getting worse and worse with every entry this was a breath of fresh air.

Better than most new Amityville's
kbtoys10016 January 2021
As another reviewer said, viewing a post-millenium Amutyville film you need to keep your expectations low.

Released around the same time as Dustin Ferguson's abysmal Amityville Toybox and Amityville Clownhouse, I was expecting this to be only marginally better. My hopes were a little higher (High Hopes, get it?...) when I saw Lionsgate put this out.

The good: -Production values are low but MUCH higher than all the other new 'Amityville ____" movies. -There's some decent gore -It's not boring like most new Amityville movies

The bad -Literally zero to do with Amityville except the town. -Ending is uninspired

Overall if you want to watch a generic haunting movie you could do a lot worse. Just don't expect an actual Amityville Horror storyline

The Amityville Hilarity
109YearsOld30 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
If you want to laugh your ass off while watching a 'horror' movie, this is it. But make sure to have something to do so as not to waste your time completely, having a meal to go with it is a good start. Full of ugly women, atrocious acting, plots with no reason, laughable CGI, what's not to like? Worse than the worst TV movie, everything just reeks of -10 star rating.

Total Trash
tinahale-2510916 November 2020
I don't even know where to begin. It immediately grabs your attention when you see the word Amityville so they know how to get your drawn to buy it and YES, I bought it. NOTHING to do with Amityville!!!!! The acting was HORRIBLE and the plot made no sense at all. Don't waste your money. It went into my pile of "total trash" DVDs and I have a collection because seems like that is all they make these days.

Absolute worse movie I have possibly ever seen. As a horror enthusiast, was excited to give it a try, I should have read reviews first. Terrible production, too much edgy filtering, terrible makeup, acting could've been worse but I couldn't even finish the movie as it was that bad, don't waste your time or money.

The doors are locked
nogodnomasters16 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Christina (Sadie Katz ) leads a group of people to film interview Vincent J. Miller whose g-grandfather was involve in the Lincoln assassination plot. We know Vincent is a vampire from FFVII and we see his fangs 15 minutes into the film. It takes an hour of film time for Cosmo (Brandon Alan Smith) to figure it out.

Slow moving vampire film. Builds some character but not very well. The opening scene should have been scary as it had all the elements but lacked the right sound track and jump scares. The vampire whistles "Dixie." While that tune was appropriate it lacks a good creep factor. Amityville location did not play into the film. Looked like a doll house from outside.

Guide: F-word. Brief sex. No nudity.

Dense characters (not in a good way)
georgiafw23 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Overall BAD acting and it took the characters forever to catch on to what was happening. (Don't you just hate that?!?! It's like they're so dumb that they don't deserve to survive the movie.) For instance, a real sound guy would have stopped the filming immediately when he noticed additional voices/noises on the recording, not list all of the issues after recording for 3 minutes.

Vincent said that the plot to assassinate Lincoln was scheduled for April 15th, but he was actually shot on the night of the 14th and died the next morning on the 15th. Get your facts right, folks! A quick read of Wikipedia is all it would take.

Worst Ever

I've seen my share of terrible movies. I've never seen anything this bad. Writing, sets, continuity, acting, story . . . All of it, horrible. It's not even funny-bad. It's just bad. (I'd like to leave it here, but they require more characters) There are dumb things. For instance, characters say it's too dark to see, but there are bright rays of light in the room. I'd like to recommend it to fans of bad movies, but it has no redeeming qualities. I did get a kick out of characters developing, losing, and then again developing accents. I mean, maybe if it were a middle school movie project, but . . . Nope.

Dead Presidents are worth more!
mechavsmonsters24 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The fall is a special time of year to watch scary movies. This is not one of them. Our group decided to go ahead and watch it. This is what the outcome is.

The movie has a plot tryng to mix 10 elements into it, which none of them work. The people that greenlit this film should be used car dealers. Where to begin and what to say is tough enough.

The story has a camera team that goes to interview a creepy guy about something to do with the Lincoln killing, yes the President. Magically it turns into a suspense of messy script work and bad everything. The Amityville name is being used for this bad film, sorry digital garbage video trying to connect itself with scamming people thinking it would have something to do with Amityville.

Let's start with the script. It has ideas, it has what we call bad writting. There is nothing making anything we haven't seen or original to the table. It's just another slapped together story that doesn't give anything. F+

The acting is just poor performance cause there is no direction at all. It's basically the effect of bad script writting, bad direction, makes bad performance. I've seen Sadie Katz in her earlier career do some good work, but she is like Jennifer Grey rise to the top and reduced to acting in very very poor flicks like this. The guy who played I guess you can say the Vampire was ok, but once again acting is just a dud in this. I think the director was sleeping or worrried if there was still a jelly donut left in the donut box. Who knows but what a duece.

The worse part also with this movie is the bad camera work all around. The lighting is not pattern to the entire film. it's like super low key to overblown sloppy. I have to say the camera work was very poor. There is something called composition, but that might be to hard. F+

The enitre flick was a bore fest. It had nothing spooky or attention keeping. Just another box art to haggle in the few to spend a buck until people start to see the 10 star epic reviews are basically the people involved somewhere in this mess.

F+++++ ALL AROUND. When a group of 29 people talk and lose attention during a screening party that are votin to review this, that is bad enough. This movie will be forgotten faster then the sound of speed.

Once again how Lionsgate made this>>> I guess if you can suffer a hour and half of your life to watch it, go ahead, but I say find a better classic horror or even the real Amityville flicks cause this one is a stinker.

If you think it's 1 start, you haven't watched the last several Amityville
iamrobbbb4 October 2022
I gave it 3 stars. Generous? Maybe. But if you watched the last half dozen or maybe more Amityville movies, those atrocities are what a one star movie looks like. This actually doesn't look like it was done by a high school movie club. The actors and actresses look like an approximation of what should be on TV. It's a C horror movie. I also have no idea what it had to do with Amityville, but at least it's not possessed lumber in the basement. If you got that joke, congratulations you like bad horror movies. If you think it's 1 start, you haven't watched the last several Amityville. If you think it's 1 start, you haven't watched the last several Amityville.

Actually? Not that bad.
queeroid16 December 2020
Literally any film can slap "Amityville" onto its title, so there is very little horror fans have come to expect from those that do so. By no means, though, does this one deserve a one star rating. If you're looking for the true lower echelon of Amityville films, then try Amityville Death House (2015), Amityville: Vanishing Point (2016), Amityville: No Escape (2016), Amityville: Evil Never Dies (2017), Amityville Exorcism (2017), or Amityville: Mt. Misery Rd. (2018). (I have yet to watch Amityville Vibrator (2020), but, uh... I expect you can add that to the list as well.) Comparing those abominations to this film? It's a solid, good quality b-movie with not-so-bad acting and a story of its own. Granted, "Amityville" should _not_ be in the title and if you're expecting anything related to the haunting to be in this film, then you _will_ be disappointed. But if you can look past the blatant cash grab, a story about a film production crew who end up staying in a historical house with its very pale owner might be of interest to you.
