- Owen: You think this'll do the the trick?
- Nancy Drew: I... I mean, I thought you would have an electric shovel or something.
- Owen: You mean an earth auger?
- [she gives him a funny look]
- Owen: What? That's the name for it.
- Nancy Drew: I just mean, this seems extreme.
- Owen: Well... I'm an extremely useful guy. Where are we headed again?
- Nancy Drew: The lawn of my old high school.
- [showing him the photo of Karen with Lucy Sable]
- Nancy Drew: Plaque marks the spot.
- Owen: Okay. Mission Excavate Time Capsule. Can't remember the last time I had this much fun.
- Nancy Drew: Mm. That's depressing, Owen.
- Ace: Laura had all these guesses for the password. It really bothered her to get shut out.
- Ned 'Nick' Nickerson: Yeah, she's gonna forgive you, bro.
- Ace: I don't know. She's a woman of strong emotions. There was one time...
- Ned 'Nick' Nickerson: Ace, Ace. I would love to hear about it... after we get into these files.
- Ace: Yeah. Story for another time. Okay, the drive contains exactly one thing. It's a masked URL. A secret website. Password-protected.
- Ned 'Nick' Nickerson: Okay.
- [inputting "Dantes", the surname of the lead character from "The Count of Monte Cristo"]
- Ned 'Nick' Nickerson: First book Tiffany gave me. It's the first password I would have tried.
- Ace: [they gain access] Hey. Regular backups to the cloud.
- Ned 'Nick' Nickerson: Okay, what was the... what was the last thing she added?
- Ace: [opening a text message] "Ryan's getting desperate. Invited rival to dinner for five. Pine Hill won't be happy to see me there. His family sees me as a threat."
- Ned 'Nick' Nickerson: Hey, hey, there's a folder labeled "Pine Hill."
- Ace: [opening it] Old shareholder reports. Insurance statements. New documents signed... by the officer of the corporation.
- Ned 'Nick' Nickerson: Owen Marvin?
- Ace: That's Mr. Calamari Spender, from the party. You think he had something to do with Tiffany's death?
- Nancy Drew: Where's Victoria?
- Bess Marvin: Um... she's right behind me. She's coming. We came separately. But I saw George. And judging by the *stunning* cocktail dress she has on, Tiffany is walking the runway. She has amazing taste, even in death.
- Nancy Drew: So... when you're not busy organizing parties and offering to help cater-waiters you don't know and wearing fancy suits, you are in real estate, right? I mean, the Marvins are famed for wheeling and dealing in properties.
- Owen: Wheeling and dealing. Is that what they say about us in town?
- Nancy Drew: They say you're in construction, too.
- Owen: That part is true.
- Nancy Drew: So... still want to make yourself useful?
- Nancy Drew: [opening a time capsule that was buried at her high school] Sorry, Class Day 1999. I know you wanted this bad boy cracked open a hundred years from now. And I'm sure the denizens of the future would have been fascinated by this enormous cell phone. Or a packet of poetry from the Alliterators. Or that... toothbrush? Seriously? But I think Lucy wants me to find something else.
- [finding a DVD labeled "Messages from the Past"]
- Nancy Drew: That's a little on the nose, but sure.
- Ace: [to George] Bad news: Tiffany doesn't like you... The good news is that Tiffany's *dead*, so... I'm sorry, Nick. The other bad news is that Tiffany's spirit has been hitching a ride in your body... intermittently.
- Georgia 'George' Fan: [sighs - describing what it was like to be possessed by Tiffany] It was like a radio, tuned to pure emotions.
