A saga for the over 50s
xmasdaybaby196613 August 2021
This episode sort of goes off in a different way but it is still strong unlike with some of the other two parters.

Anton Lesser had a lesser role in this one as it seems to be more about the women this time.

Scintillating Eva Pope and earthy Stella Honey catch the eye but feisty Sally Dexter always pleases.

Her relationship with her husband is a good one (maybe because they were in an episode of A Touch Of Frost together years before).

Fans of Christopher Fulford will be pleased even if he does seem to be typecast in much he does.

Most enjoyable with twists in the story brilliantly written by Taggart creator Glenn Chandler.

Not the outcome I expected.

I'd argue this second part is the more enjoyable episode, plenty happening, lots of intrigue, and of course the surprising and dramatic outcome.

Christopher Fulford shines through, with a very strong performance, Stella Gonet is very good also.

The plot is of course very engaging, and possibly a bit of a stretch, but it makes for good drama. 8/10
