The film used the same stack of $2 bills used in the director's other films, "One New Message" and "Spoiler Alert!"
Though the pizza in "Slices" was delivered by the fictional restaurant "Pandemic Pizza," to a woman suffering severe flu-like symptoms, and the film debuted at the Mile High Film Festival during the Covid-19 Pandemic, the short was actually filmed almost before the virus' U.S. outbreak. The name "Pandemic Pizza" was a subtle nod to a local theater company, "Pandemic Collective," with whom the director and producers were associated.
