A very strong conclusion.

I'm not sure why, but I'm reminded of the BBC series Maelstrom, maybe it's the eerie vibe, or the record playing. This is a terrific second episode, it's cleverly crafted, engaging, and features a superb scene between Clarke and Lunghi, she showed us just what a terrific actor he really was.

This is very sad story, but it truly does have a lot of depth. Many layers, but it's the locked room mystery and tragic historic events at Cherwell Tower that are most intriguing.

Clarke steals the show in a great episode. 8/10

John Bowe always show gravitas in his roles, Cherie Lunghi is flirtatious and Hannah Yelland shows class in her roles.

These are the three good points from this.

After 2x50 minute episodes in the last series, this one has been extended to 2x59 minutes but it feels as though those extra 9 minutes could easily have been removed.

Warren Clarke goes OTT when questioning Lunghi's character but it does seem more like shouting than acting.

A bit long but watchable.

Unprofessional Andy
Johnny_West28 July 2022
Fat Andy is off-duty when he hears the call regarding a death at his old girlfriend's house. He immediately charges over and tries to stop any investigation of the death. Based on just looking at the body, Andy tells Pascoe and the team to mark it as a suicide. Then he goes over to his old girlfriend (played by Cherie Lunghi) and tells her he will do everything to protect her. Really classy copper, Andy is.

Like often happens, Andy is at odds with Pascoe and the rest of his team. As Andy tries to weasel his way into Cherie's life, Pascoe and the team are doing their jobs, and uncovering evidence that the suicide might be a murder.

This episode had a lot of twists and turns, a murder, a suicide, radioactive medical waste, and an epidemic of cancer victims that were covered up. After Pascoe does most of the detective work, Andy joins in at the end to hog the credit.
