Sex & Nudity

  • There are two figures seen in the background, one male and one female, it is suggested they are prostitutes.
  • Two characters are seen having sex, it's very short without nudity.
  • In Act 2, two characters make love in a bed. Backside nudity isn't shown.
  • A scene in Act 2 takes place in a brothel. No nudity, however suggestive language and imagery are used for implications.
  • An episode in Act 3 has a female character walk out of a bathtub towards a male character. The side of her breasts and her back are shown briefly.
  • A mid-teenage character (Jinx) regularly wears a skin-tight crop-top with side-boob regularly showing.
  • In Act 3, a woman is shown in the shower. Her face and neck is shown, as well as her legs. She gets out of the shower and her back is shown. No nudity.
  • In act 2, two characters make love, but there is no explicit nudity. Some scenes take place in a brothel, but again, no actual explicit content.
  • In episode 8 - old lady in a bathtub no nudity. Then she stand and her breast are shown no nipples shown . easy to miss

Violence & Gore

  • Numerous corpses seen. Not gory but can be disturbing to some viewers
  • Violence is strong and shocking at times, with quite a bit of blood, but no gore.
  • Many people are killed or suggested that they are. It is typically off screen but still fairly violent.
  • A fight occurs. With lots of punches, kicks, stamping and slamming sometimes in slow motion. Towards the end of the fight a man is hit with a piece of wood. Blood is shown getting spit out when people are punched, however no blood is shown from any kicks or any other actions. Blood is shown dripping from a mouth after the man is hit with wood.
  • Characters are shown with bruises and black eyes
  • Episode-specific details have been deleted. Only provide series or season details. Episode specific items should be added to the episode.
  • Blood is shown staining weapons
  • Girl gets her head cut off. You see a blood pool on the ground
  • Much more violent than the game.

Profanity

  • Sh*t is used 20 times occasionally.
  • Fu*k is used 3 times. 2 are mouthed and easily missable. The others can clearly be heard.
  • Hell is said a few times.
  • In Powder/Jinx's past, Her friend does a middle finger
  • Vi (one of the main characters) curses the most in the series.
  • Middle fingers were sticked a couple of times
  • Several F bombs in final few episodes.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Many scenes take place in bars and pubs where characters are seen drinking.
  • Many characters are seen smoking cigarettes, pipe tobacco, and cigars.
  • There is a substance in the show called 'shimmer' which can transform people into raging monsters. It is implied that the substance is addictive.
  • Smoking and doing addictive substances is a common theme throughout the show. You frequently see people smoking on screen and in the background. and there are many bar scenes in which people are both smoking and drinking.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Major epilepsy warning. Lots of intense flashing sequences throughout
  • Show regularly deals with heavy and intense topics such as suicide, emotional abuse, abandonment, addiction, war, and death.
  • The third episode is very depressing and intense.
  • The series starts off pretty bleak, with the main characters as children finding their parents' dead bodies after an attack. There are very few happy scenes throughout.
  • There is some recurring child death, all somewhat graphic and very sad. Can leave some particularly younger viewers feeling sad and disturbed.
  • Suggested MPAA rating R/PG-13 for strong violence, bloody and disturbing images, drug material, some language, and brief sexuality.
  • Overall, the show has a very dark and depressing tone.

Sex & Nudity

  • There is Jayce and Medarda kissing leading to sex scene. They shown like quarter of nudity.
  • Jinx wears a revealing top, showing the side of her breasts
  • As the show goes on, two major female characters are heavily implied to have romantic feelings for each other.

Violence & Gore

  • Near the beginning of episode 3 blood Splatters across a window which causes the room to have a red tinge. The camera then zooms out and shows a dead body surrounded by blood. Shortly after a character is killed off screen except for some blood flying as he is taken off screen.
  • A mutated mouse kills a cat. The scene is shown from a first person perspective but cuts away as the mouse jumps towards the cat. Nothing is shown except blood droplets splattering on the window of the enclosure
  • A character is shown getting blasted into a wall from an explosive bomb. A quick spurt of blood is shown as his goggles fly off. The bloodstained goggles are seen a couple times. Blood is quickly shown when he hits the wall too. At the same time a character is impaled in the shoulder with a metal bar, however no blood is shown. He is then crushed by debris however it cuts away before impact.
  • Two children die in the same episode. One, at the beginning, is decapitated. Her head is seen sliding off her body from behind. The other, at the end, dies from a long fall. We see him lying on the ground and die.
  • A character is stabbed right near the end of episode 5 after a long and brutal fight. Not too much blood. Only shown for a few seconds
  • In act 3 a man gets his bottom jaw cut off, no blood shows but it appears that he is dead.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Two main characters contemplate suicide. First, Jayce, when his ambitions are shut down, his inventions and life's work are to be destroyed. At the last moment, he is interrupted by Viktor, and stops. Later in the series, Viktor accidentally kills a young woman who cared for him, and as he's about to kill himself, he is also interrupted by Jayce. The scenes are scary and may be hard to watch if you have suffered depression or have a history with dark thoughts.
  • One of the characters slips into insanity and starts showing signs of severe PTSD and schizophrenia. She has visions of her friends that she killed by accident. She also has a few mental break downs that may be triggering to viewers with history with PTSD
  • In Act III, a character contemplates committing suicide, but is interrupted by another character. This also happens in Act I, but with a different character.
  • A woman is disintegrated into ashes during Episode 8. We see her body falling apart, and her remains on the floor.
  • In Act I, a young man is seen turning into a monster after consuming Shimmer. He grips his head in pain, and we can hear him scream in agony.
  • In Act 1, significant amount of blood is splattered across the window. Eventually showing a group of murdered enforcers along with a killed woman with an open eyes shown. Intense music follows the scene
  • A chemist treats the main character with a massive amount of drugs so she is kept alive, causing her to hallucinate - followed by her being injected in the neck by more "shimmer". She is screaming and weeping throughout. The scene is pretty intense and in your face, but a short one.
  • In the end of episode 2, a character is pictured wanting to step of the edge of a building, attempting suicide, but is interrupted by another character.
