Should become a series

When the BBC announce a half-hour comedy as a "one-off" when it was obviously intended to be a pilot for a series, it tends to mean that they have already decided not to commission it. Which is a shame, as this show definitely had potential. Not laugh out loud, but a comedy about real people with contemporary problems. In the year of COVID who knows what will happen in the future, but I'd like to see the writers given a chance to extend their premise.

Don't think this will catch on. There's a slight hint of comedy, but Rhys Thomas has (co-)written much stronger stuff (especially the various shows featuring Simon Day as Brian Pern). Hopefully they won't commission a full series.

What a disaster, it just wasn't funny. We were just laughing at these characters for all the wrong reasons and it was just political correctness and snow flackery gone mad.

To suggest, even in a comic setting, that because you are lonely you should have a baby is wrong on every level, get a dog.

If this was a pilot then cancel any further shows as this was tripe with a capital T.

Anita is a woman aged 62, and a divorcee, she's reached a momentous decision, she wants another baby, so heads to Holland for IVF.

I enjoyed this one off comedy very much, it was very funny, and very unusual, I don't remember seeing anything similar to it, nice to see Amanda Redman doing comedy. Surely there is mileage here for this to become a series, I do hope so, there is plenty of scope here, I'd love to see more from them.

Aiden was a hilarious character, her delicate son, I also loved her very privileged sister Barbara, Louise Jameson was very funny.

Very good, 8/10.
