Two forces to be reckoned with have teamed up to bring us our first look at "It's Hell Getting Old," a horror short from director Patrick Rea that will be part of Blanc/Biehn Productions' new elevator-set anthology Hellevator Man.
Kansas City-based Rea's short stars Kip Niven (Jayhawkers, New Year’s Evil), Joicie Appell (Nailbiter), Victor Raider-Wexler (Minority Report), and Nancy Marcy. It was executive produced by Jennifer Blanc-Biehn, Michael Biehn, and Lony Ruhmann.
The script, written by Rea, deals with four elderly people trapped in an elevator on their way to their 50th Class Reunion, and one of them may have forgotten to take some important medication. The film was shot in Kansas City, Missouri, and the director of photography was Hanuman Brown-Eagle.
In addition to a few behind-the-scenes photos from "It's Hell Getting Old," we also have the kick-off announcement for Bbp's Mindless, a mind-bending thriller that marks...

Bloody Disgusting BC learned at the San Diego Comic-Con that Brea Grant ( Halloween II, "Heroes") and Zak Bagans ("Ghost Adventures") have both landed roles in Danielle Harris' directorial, Among Friends, which was announced last week. Grant starred with Harris in Rob Zombie's Halloween sequel. The screenplay was penned by Alyssa Lobit, who also wrote and played the lead character in the award winning film The Things We Carry. There's no official synopsis yet but with a tagline like "This dinner party's gonna be killer," I'm praying that it's a cross between Clue and Murder Party - the more it's like the former, the better. Chris Backus, Jennifer Blanc Biehn, Aj Bowen, Brianne Davis, Dana Daurey, Danielle Harris, Kamala Jones, Alyssa Lobit, Chris Meyer and Tanya Newbould previouslysigned on to star in the picture.

Dwight revealed what emotions he was harboring about his father's murder and the reason behind it in "The Things We Carry."
The arson of a popular and historical theatre had the Mpd regaling each other of their childhood memories of the place. Dwight's no doubt included an Elvis movie he'd seen with his father, a memory that coincided with the news that the man who killed his dad was up for compassionate release.
The revelation lead to a mother-son road trip to Angola in Louisiana, placing the spotlight on not only the case, but another historical hotspot down south. It was an interesting backdrop for what was quite the emotional ride.
What I really appreciated about this episode was Dwight's struggle with his father's memory, especially when it was discovered that his mother might have been aware of the money all along. Does the fact he didn't spend it devoid it of all unsavory ties,...

This 'The Social Network' star has landed a role in another blockbuster film -- and this time, audiences will actually get to see his face.
Josh Pence, who played opposite Armie Hammer as a Winklevoss twin (Hammer's head was digitally placed on Pence's body, cutting out his speaking parts), has been cast in the upcoming Batman epic, "The Dark Knight Rises." According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pence will play young Ra's Al Ghul, the villain played by Liam Neeson in Nolan's first caped crusader film, "Batman Begins."
Pence will star in flashback scenes reaching back 30 years, THR reports. He joins an already star studded cast; Joseph Gordon-Levitt will similarly play a villain, while Anne Hathaway will take on Selena Kyle/Catwoman. Continuing my "Road to The Victim", on this stop we have actress Alyssa Lobit who plays Lisa in the grindhouse thriller. Check out my latest "Versus" with Alyssa Lobit where we talk about her experience filming The Victim, her favorite kind of movies and her other projects she has in the works.
Brian S- First off how did you get involved with The Victim?
Alyssa Lobit- Jennifer's a good friend of mine and I met Michael through her. So I was excited to hear they were spear-heading a project. I'd recently done the same on the indie drama The Things We Carry, which I wrote, starred in and produced--which Jennifer appears in as well. My involvement in The Victim started out with me sharing my experiences in making my film, connecting them with various resources, crew, etc., and cheering them on. So I was thrilled when they offered me a part in their film.

Interesting news coming out of the camp of the indie feature The Victim. It seems as if actor Michael Biehn has flexed his directing muscle as well on this latest thriller.
From the Press Release:
Michael Biehn is best known for his captivating roles on-screen, but you can now add a new title to his long list of credits. The lead actor of The Victim is now also helming the role of director in the much anticipated psychological thriller.
“Throughout my career Iʼve worked with some of the greatest directors of all time, like James Cameron, William Friedkin,” Michael says. “Iʼve gotten the chance to really watch the best at work...but Iʼve come to learn Iʼm a maniac on set. Iʼm so passionate I get really intense, and I think thatʼs how I get the best performance out of my cast.”
This is Michaelʼs first leap into the directing...

I'd been acting for many years, and had reached the point where something had to give. Not only was the pavement pounded—it was ground to a fine powder. I was willing to make one last big effort, and go out with a bang, so to speak. More like the Big Bang—giving birth to something huge—than "Bang Bang, You're Dead." Making a feature film could be just that: One that I wrote and in which I appeared as the lead. I've made some short films. Now I'd finally written a feature-length screenplay, "The Things We Carry." I hadn't intended to write such a personal story. It started out as one thing, and by the time I was done with it—years later—it had morphed from a narrative casually influenced by my experiences to one that was unequivocally inspired by my life. While there's still plenty of fictionalization and dramatization,...
