Cathy and Richard

While at the Shake Shop with Richard, Patty dances with another boy named Rudy. Rudy's father is the owner of Carlos Palomar Dance Studio where Patty goes with Rudy the next day. Patty makes Cathy cover for her to Richard, saying she is sick. He feels bad for Patty and asks Cathy to go with him to a Charlie Chaplin festival instead. On their return, Richard discovers Patty wasn't sick. The two argue, with Richard saying he's finally had enough. He calls for a date with Cathy who respectably declines. Patty encourages her to go out with him until she wants him back. She does so in a way that upsets Cathy by suggesting she isn't very popular or attractive. Cathy calls Richard to change her mind and go bowling. Soon, Richard moves on to other targets and Patty fears she has lost him for good.
