Just when I didn't think this show could get anymore exciting it does. I'm anxious to see what will happen next week.

Eye of the Needle

Prodigal son is absurd but it is enjoyably absurd.

In this episode there is another Whitly family reunion in prison. This time ex wife Jessica confronts Dr Whitly about his past crimes.

You have to wonder just how many prison visits a notorious serial killer like Dr Whitley is allowed. They just all waltz in with all their possessions and not getting searched.

The Carousel Killer is targeting Jessica. While Ainsley Whitly now promoted as an in studio reporter gets to interview the killer live on air.

The Carousel Killer is toying with the Whitly's. As Malcolm figures, there is a possible link with his father's victims.

The key is whether the Surgeon killed any of his patients in his care.

The episode starts off intriguingly apart from Jessica irresponsibly planning to go on her own to meet someone with some information about the girl in the box.

It does fall apart at the end and becomes more preposterous. I did think the editing was choppy and rushed.

Highly unlikely

Warning: Spoilers
The episode as a whole was decent. But the idea that a prison, a psychiatric one at that, would allow visitors to bring in personal effects such as a purse is out of the question. It would never happen! Pretty sure they would have more than just a metal detector as some kind of deterrent even IF they were allowed to bring in belongings to see an inmate. X-ray machine at the least as well as a search of bags and coats.

Oh and the journalistic style of Ainsley is as flat as a pancake. The actress who plays her really should've brushed up more on the on-air anchors and reporters of today's media. She is an okay actress but does a lousy version of a reporter/anchor!

This show becomes more insipid each week. The banal dialog, the forced and hollow chatacters, especially the mother wretchedly played by Bellamy Young adds up to a very painful, torturous hour. The only saving grace is Martin Sheen and the Ainsley character who seems to have found a 'pair.' Her bravado, even if it's Cyrano-esque is worthy of a rewind. The recent addition of spectacular actress Hettienne Park could be a way out of this shows rut if they feature her more as part of Ainsley's journey.

Terrible editing

Love this show but whoever did the editing for this episode should be fired. Story was good but hard to watch as the jump from scene to scene was the opposite of smooth.

Suspending disbelief

Warning: Spoilers
Mrs Whitly's all pervading character and her blatant inability to learn lessons from her blundering is becoming a drag on a very good show. In this episode she yet again disregards all reason and common sense. She withdraws $1m in loose $100 bills (a common banking practice) They are dumped out - but not a move by law enforcement to stop the $ free for all - then she, and all the team, wander off without a care.

Warning: Spoilers
This was total crap and wrecked this series for me. The idea that any news channel would air a live interview with a killer who was demanding a million dollars not to kill again was utter crap. The writer of this rubbish needs to pack it all in. Never again......
