Veteran theatre, and film actors Virendra Saxena, and Brijendra Kala have opened up on what the festival of Diwali means to them, and shared their cherished memories. For some, Diwali is a cherished tradition deeply rooted in its rich rituals, the delight of savouring delectable treats, the joy of adorning the home with lights, and the exchange of heartfelt gifts, while for others, the true magic of Diwali lies in the warmth of family and friends coming together.
Virendra, who stars in teleplay ‘Jana Tha Roshanpura’, thinks there is a vast difference in the way small towns and big cities celebrate Diwali.
The actor said: “I remember watching Ramleela in a colourful and lively atmosphere with a crowd when I was growing up. In a city like Mumbai however, one must create a sense of community by getting together with friends and relatives to share meals and to enjoy each other’s company.

When we reviewed Trauma Therapy: Psychosis it was mentioned the fillm was a reworked version of The Vance Institute. A was originally shot with the intent of being released in black and white with a few colour scenes. Instead, it was released all in colour.
There was also new footage added featuring Tom Sizemore as the host of The Tom Sizemore Show interviewing Victor, one of the characters from the 2019 film Trauma Therapy. After Sizemore died this made a centrepiece of the film’s publicity as his last film despite there being several more of his films yet to be released.
This was shot and edited in without the participation of the original director, Lawrie Brewster who says he was assured he would have the final cut.

The series Youssef Chahine: Son of the Nile is showing on Mubi starting September 16, 2021 in most countries.Image from https://festival.ilcinemaritrovato.itBologna, June 2019. I spotted an Arab name on the badge of the hotel's night porter. When I asked, he turned out to be one—an Egyptian. I mentioned to him that Youssef Chahine's films would be playing in Bologna for the next few days. His face lit up. A floodgate of emotions, about Egypt, his past, and cinema opened, temporarily drowned him in nostalgia, passion and regret. He shared stories of Chahine, of his beloved Alexandria. He even cursed the extra who had forgotten to remove his wristwatch during the battle scene of Salah Eddin (a film about the Crusade, from the Arabs' point of view). According to him, by doing so he had prevented the film from entering the Oscar competition.Very few directors can make that impact on their people,...
