Director Lee Joon-ik loves a good historical story. Eight of his twelve directorial credits so far have all been historicals of some form. His newest effort “The Book of Fish” sees him return once again not only to the genre after the lukewarm response to his last film, the modern-day set “Sunset in My Hometown“, but also sees him reteam with Sol Kyung-gu, the star of one of his most lauded works, “Hope”.
Synopsis
The story of poet Jeong Yak-yong’s brother, Jeong Yak-jeon when he was exiled to Heuksando in 1801, and meets an energetic young fisherman.
Alongside Sol Kyung-gu, “The Book of Fish” also stars Byun Yo-han, (“Will You Be There?”), Lee Jung-eun (“Parasite“), K-Drama regular Min Do-hee (“Reply 1994”) and Kang Ki-young (“Crazy Romance“). Earlier projected as a 2020 release, “The Book of Fish” is now scheduled to be released in February 2021.

Actress Gong Hyo-jin reigns supreme when it comes to romantic dramas for television, with any new series featuring her gaining a lot of momentum and fetching good ratings throughout its runtime and awards once its finished. On the silver screen though, she has consciously been trying to build a completely different image to her small screen avatar, featuring in actions films like “Hit-and-Run Squad” and thrillers like “Door Lock” and “Missing”. Likewise, actor Kim Rae-won has also had a strong presence and following in the romance genre on television but has been seen in action dramas like “The Prison” and “Gangnam Blues” on the big screen. Both of them haven’t been in a romantic feature since “You are More than Beautiful” in 2013 and “My Little Bride” in 2003 respectively. So when director Kim Han-gyul managed to sign both of them for her debut “Crazy Romance” which of course, as the title suggests,...

Korean disaster action film has been set as the opening movie of the Far East Film Festival in Udine. Due to coronavirus and social distancing measures still in place in Italy, the festival will be held entirely online this year.
The festival is normally held in late April and early May. This time it will run June 26-July 4 with a slightly reduced selection of 46 films from East Asia.
The festival will be hosted on the MyMovies.it online platform. Organizers explained that some titles will be available worldwide, some only in Europe and some exclusively in Italy. They include 4 world premieres, 12 international premieres, 10 European premieres and 17 Italian premieres.
Organizers have arranged the line up in a loose daily schedule, but say that they have “also left open the possibility of choosing independently when to watch movies by accessing the on-demand section.” And only 3 of the 46 titles will be shown exclusively in...
