Sophisticated and binge worthy sci-fi/ crime anime
imuckenschnabl25 March 2020
Freudian depth psychology meets gruesome serial killings. What a challenging storyline. Wonderful aesthetic, great voice acting, very clever dialogue script. Watched all 13 parts on one day! 9.5/10!

A wonderful experience
Flalfs23 March 2020
I was leaning towards a 10 but I thought I should save it, but honestly, this anime is a 9.5 in my book. It's visuals are amazing and probably my favorite aesthetic of the season, the style and color pallet look amazing to me. On top of that the music is absolutely amazing, I have both op and ed saved to my playlist. The story is intriguing and keeps you waiting for the next episode keeping a detective theme with sci fi elements. The characters are done quite well and they all feel quite three dimensional. The anime excels in every category and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Inception meets Japanese anime. A+
justjewett9215 June 2020
Inception meets anime.

-interesting concept and ideas that are well explored without the need to become overly philosophical.

  • GREAT characters. All have their own personalities, even minor members of the ID team are personable

-solid plot. Varied stories that comverge together for a final showdown.

-engaging, thoughtful and well-paced.

-has a good conclusive ending, but just open enough for a sequel if there were to be one.

-solid animation, if not spectacular - makes up for it with some solid art direction for the id wells.

Really well executed Detective + Psychology series
rocksinha9522 April 2020
To have more understanding of the series try learning something about Freud's definition of Id, Ego, and Super-Ego.

I just don't understand why people have given this series such low ratings to make the average a mere 7.

Compelling story, could be better
Pooyan192011 February 2021
First, I need to clear that this is vreat anime and worth watching. It has borrowed lots of ideas from the famous show Psycho-pass but it doesn't look like a copy paste. It has made the ideas for its own and I appreciate that. Although I like the experience it suffers from many plot holes and lack of character development. Don't get me wrong I love the fact that story is focused and doesn't waste the audience time with showing every characters background. But sometimes in order for story to move on we might need more out of the character. My major problem with this show is the quality of the anime and the lack of imagination in direction. The quality is not great. Character design and world building could a million times better. Imagine this had the quality and the artistic direction of Psycho-pass. Nonetheless it's a good anime with good ideas. I recommend it.

Finish the first two episodes before making a decision.
luckychuck18820 April 2020
I watched the first episode and though meh this is alright, but wasn't blown away. It's a well written show and the detective genre in anime isn't a long list of shows so I'm always interested in a new one. Put off watching the second episode for a while but when I finally watched it I was blown away, the pace and show took a twist and just improved so much I got sucked in. Give it a chance at least through the second episode before you make a decision.

I don't get the hype
eclectic_girl771 July 2022
I can't say I hate the show, but I can't say I understand all the rave reviews either. ID:Invaded wants to be an edgy psychological drama like the far superior Psycho -Pass, but lacks the necessary ingredients, ie edginess, psychological intrigue, and dramatic tension. I mean, for crying out loud, I figured out who the main Big Baddie was in the first episode - it's not that difficult to deduce! The story seems unnecessarily convoluted, which I guess it has to be since it's got nothing else going for it, its premise and technology reminding me so much of Minority Report and Inception. All but a couple of the characters are paper-thin as far as development, and even those with slightly more depth we really don't come to know all that well beyond basic emotional drives (one loves and misses his family, one's super into serial killers, etc). I think what bothered me most watching this short (thankfully) anime series was the animation, which wasn't pleasing or eye-catching or particularly well-done at all. In fact, it looked rather cheap and sloppy.

I watched ID:Invaded from first to last episode - so you can't say I didn't give it a chance - and I just can't recommend it. Your time would be better spent watching Psycho-Pass, Darker Than Black, Monster, Plastic Memories, B: The Beginning, or Ghost in the Shell S. A. C.

Combination of Big Hollywood Sci-fi Executed well...
LUchiha29 March 2020
Many people will Pass this show because THEY HAVE TO USE THERE GOD DAMN HEAD IN THIS SHOW TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING even though the show is trying to give you hints each time. Like last year winter this year doesn't have popular anime that is creating buzz in the anime community. That goes same for this show which is obviously and anime original goes unnoticed mostly. There are not many shows out there that can keep you hooked and asked about your existence but this show is one of those show which is dark, gore, need proper observation and yes keeps you always edge of your seat with its unique concept (if you haven't watched Inception, source code and minority report). The main reason that this show is not highly rated on IMDB because the way of story telling is Confusing and often people will lost track about what is going on. But once you Understand the story it very beautifully executed with less to non plot holes which is a great thing about a mystery thriller show. YOU WILL LOVE IT... You should give it a try .... and yes BE PATIENT...

ID: Invaded

The plot was very unique to say the least. The show is based around a machine that is used that allows the detective to dive "wells" from serial killers (which can be seen as their unconscious). Through these wells the deceives figure out who the serial killer is and who their victims are/will be. I really enjoyed the story over all and there were many twists that I did not expect. Some of the characters in this show are pretty basic and don't have any development. But the main character and even two side characters have development that drive the story. Throughout the show, the main character's story is revealed slowly as his character develops. Sakaido has got to be one of my favourite characters at the moment (especially due to his voice acting, his voice actor has a great voice and displays emotions very well). I really enjoyed the show and I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of mystery, thriller, or detective shows. The strong point was definitely how unique the plot was.

Intuitive Interesting Incredible
sxnes27 April 2023
Great history, it catch me immediately, I like the sophistication of how to resolve the crimes by exploring the mind of the criminals. Also this anime remember me the film Inception. I hope the creators of this anime keep working to release soon the season two; I watched the Spanish version. But I think the English version should be good too.

Could be great to see a live action film or series on any streaming platform soon. Also a video game of this anime should be considered for the creators to release soon. I just imagine a video game exploring and resolving crimes like the anime using the minds of the criminals.

Waste of time.
vleproy13 May 2021
Boring, repetitive, slow, and confusing. It's just a messy jumble of ideas. It's a complete waste of time. I tried to keep watching, hoping that it would get better. I watched until episode 6 and it just kept getting more and more repetitive and boring.

It's NOTHING like psycho pass. Psycho pass was amazing. This is trash.
