Little Boys (#3.4)

Warning: Spoilers
For this episode they brought back the little boy who blackmailed Marshall in the super bowl episode. Only now it is Robin who has to deal with him. Nicholas Roget-King was pretty good on this show, a promising child actor. I wonder what happened to him after 2008 and whether he chose a new career or is just taking a study break.

Well, I love this side of Robin where she doesn't like kids. Her believing that winning in custody law is not to get a child was a very fun dialogue. Besides that it was also fun how she tried to "break up" with the kid, even though it wasn't her whom he saw as his new mommy.

The competition of Barney and Ted about who has the game was also good. Although out of them all I preferred Marshall and how well he calculated all the times he had sex with Lily. Also is why getting married the end result of the game for women? Let's be real, this is not what Robin wants for example, but definitely what Ted dreams about and is gaming for.

A Step In The Right Direction
slightlymad2211 December 2014
The show is always more fun when Barney Stinson, the always brilliant Neil Patrick Harris has a strolling that's front and centre. Whilst the Robin storyline is the focal point of this episode the Barney and Ted plot is given a lot of screen time.

Plot In A Paragraph: In an attempt to see who "got game" Ted and Barney make a bet on who can sleep with the next beautiful woman they see at MacLaren's, that woman whose name is Stacey. As Ted's luck would have it, Stacey is an old conquest of Barney's who she hates. Ted seems to have the bet in the bag. Meanwhile Lily thinks that a guy she knows is perfect for Robin, but he's a single father, which is usually a deal breaker for kid hating Robin.

Whilst not a patch on some of the episodes of the second season, this at least heads in the right direction.

Cringe worthy Misogyny
vishakhha27 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of those cringe worthy episodes of HIMYM that reek of misogyny and surpasses all levels of objectifying women. First there is a competition between Ted and Barney to pick the next woman to sleep with. Barney lies to Ted that he had already slept with the woman and when Ted starts getting close to the girl he tells him how he has 'been' on various body parts of that girl before Ted and Ted would be there a second time after Barney's 'conquests'. Ted acts all cocky and says he doesn't care. But apparently his fragile masculinity fails when he is about to kiss the girl. He sees miniature Barneys popping out of the girls lips and breasts, stamping her body parts with flags bearing his name. Apparently it is too much for Ted to bear that Barney has slept with her first and he dumps her. It's the most disgusting episode I've seen. I really wonder why the writers can't write comedy without being misogynistic.
