Starts off good but disappoints

Starts of fast moving and promising with switched daughters reuniting. Turns out the mom of one is wacko. Liked the actress who plays the wacko Hannah Barefoot. Didn't quite get why she was like that and how she raised a nice daughter being the way she was.

Not bad

I gave it a 6 out of 10, which is pretty good for a Lifetime flick. I realize that it's not a Lifetime movie without the requisite murderous sociopath, but it was a different, interesting twist for it to be one of the two moms in a switched-at-birth movie. It held my interest all the way through. And I enjoy watching Hannah Barefoot in these flicks, but I wish she would change her last name.

Note: the lead actress's name (Lindsay Hartley) is spelled incorrectly (Harley) in the beginning credits as one of the two writers.

Great Cast!
Lindsay Hartley is a Lifetime Movie KWEEN. So happy to see in addition to acting, she is continuing to write scripts as well.

That being said this movie dragged for me. The husband was kind of basic.

Ridiculous!

Warning: Spoilers
Forget about the acting, let's dissect the plot. So after they discover their daughters were switched at the hospital where they were born. The three parents of the two girls are summoned to the hospital for a meeting in the attendance of a counselor! What a stupid notion!!!! Now I am not expert in American law but I am pretty damn sure that in a situation like this hospitals cannot make any suggestions whatsoever unilaterally I(the children decide for themselves who they want to live with)! ONLY COURTS CAN MAKE DECISIONS!

Rolling eyes...

The concept is fine, it happens in real life but the acting is second grade, the characters are unbelievable and totally irrational. What happened to good movies?

Excellent Thriller!!

Warning: Spoilers
For a Lifetime movie, this one was completely excellent! Definitely a new and dangerous spin on the whole switched at birth theme. You could reasonably tell how emotional this would of been to go through. I think that is why the Alexis character did the only thing she could think of in fear of losing both of her daughters. Highly recommend!

Bad Plot, Even Worse Writing

Warning: Spoilers
The writing is pretty bad. Lindsay Hartley is at the age where it's time to stop with the half nude bikini scenes, but writing isn't her strength. In the scene where she shook the hand of the black actor who played the beloved coach, she totally wiped her hand on her pants after she shook his hand. Shame!

Ooops!!! You're Not My Daughter!!!

Warning: Spoilers
"Deadly Daughter Switch" features one of our favorite actresses, Lyndsay "Lifetime" Hartley, who co-wrote the screenplay.

The clever premise of the film was that two babies were switched at birth. It was never fully explained what happened at the Hillside Memorial Hospital, but it was clearly a major blunder on the part of the attending Nurse Cameron, who is now deceased.

When Brooke Jenkins learns that her DNA does not match that of her daughter Hailey, the hospital discovers their mistake of sixteen years ago, and the brilliant idea of the human resources department is to let the two teenage girls, Hailey and Breanne, decide their own fate for a permanent home. Will the girls live with the affluent Brooke and Carter Jenkins, or will they choose Alexis and her slovenly boyfriend Nick, who live on the poor side of town? Of course, both girls decide to live in the Jenkins' home.

When Breanne leaves home, her mother Alexis goes ballistic with separation anxiety. Multiple murders ensue, and the devious Alexis plans to get back her daughter at any cost. She refers to the casualties as collateral damage.

While the action was fairly predictable, there were some nice moments of levity, such as the bonding of Hailey and Breanne in which they refer to themselves as the "swisters." Brooke senses that Alexis is becoming unhinged, but her husband Carter is a complete milquetoast and is too slow in recognizing the danger signals. Eventually, Hailey's biological father, John Markham, shows up to try to be a hero.

While the climactic scene was too abrupt and there could have been a stronger denouement about what happened to Alexis, the characters were well-developed, and the film was mainly successful because it never took itself too seriously.
