Sex & Nudity

  • Very subtle "adult" details, easy to overlook. In one episode a wife asks the central character if her husband "ever gets bored" in his job. The girl replies that he has taken his old job into his new job. The husband comes back home, sees his wife at her most ravishing, and suddenly is caught up in her beauty. He wants to get her alone, shouting at the girl, "Why are you still here?"
  • There are some comments regarding pediphile relationships. The show is placed in a primitive environment when younger relationships were a normal occurrence. However, the children referred to in the comments start around six years old. Everyone denies having those feelings, but the comments are made.
  • Other than underage relationship comments, nothing sexual occurs in the show.
  • A few young characters (like 7-8 years old) talk about becoming concubines/mistresses, but they do not explain what it means beyond that.
  • Talks about making a deal with a noble.

Violence & Gore

  • A young girl is witness to an animal-slaughtering ritual. However, we do not see the actual slaughter; just the blood-stained weapon and the pool of blood it results in before she faints.
  • Very mild comic violence involves a girl being bumped/hit by an adult scolding her.

Profanity

  • Occasional mild coarse language ('damn', 'hell', 'crap', 'suck') in the English dub and official subtitles.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Myne's illness leads to sometimes frightening situations, in which she suddenly passes out or develops a high fever.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • It's discussed that a grey robed priestess offered her "flower" to a man who ended up leaving her. No details given, but sometimes she has PTSD episodes where she gets nervous around men.

Violence & Gore

  • Moderate violence at the end of the first season. A man punches and headbutts guards to fight them off (with some visible blood), and the main character uses her myna to suffocate the high priest who is trying to execute her parents. (She does not kill him, but we see his face turn purple and him struggle for air before passing out.) She begins to attack another priest, with blood trickling from his mouth before she is interrupted.
  • At the end of the series, there is a lot of fighting between the high priest and myne and her comrades; some people are injured.
  • A character threatens to gauge Myne's eyes out and he slices her hand, causing her to bleed.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The presence of an out-of-control Myne with a different voice and will to kill the priest at the end of the first season may be disturbing to young children.
  • One character has PTSD about losing her flower to a guy. Nothing described in detail but she still has moments where she feels trauma and it scares the kids in the orphanage.
  • The traumba is a reoccuring plant enemy and it can be intense when they fight it, especially when it attacks Myne directly.
