Uplifting documentary about the lives of underground basketball players in England
Totally enjoyed this documentary! As a basketball fan in England we don't get much quality 'content' on TV or DVD about the game in England and the players who play it. I found this documentary fascinating! The players back stories could have been longer (I was most drawn into the Kaleston character and would have liked to learn more about his situation), but given the length of the documentary I thought they did a good job of squeezing in the main themes.
As for the actual event 'Midnight Madness' - what can I say! Amazing! Absolutely brilliant that something like this is taking place in England! I went along to the final of the competition in 2007 and was amazed at the whole show! Excellent to see English players given a platform to play on of that calibre.
I'd highly recommend this to anyone interested in basketball, inner-city life in England and the struggles it can often present - also those just wanting to get a better understanding of lifestyles perhaps very different to your own.
10 out of 10 from me.
