Sex & Nudity

  • At some points in the game, the player will enter and be outside of adult clubs where women are shown dancing erotically. There is no complete nudity in any version.
  • The strip club is also a BDSM club, as a gang called "The Pervs" within it are obsessed with bondage in pain. They are shown in Bondage costumes, with some having their buttocks exposed. A lot of their dialogue include sexual references. A man wearing nothing but his underwear is also tied to a table and tortured to death by being cut apart with an electric saw.
  • There's a shootout in a porn theatre where a porn film is being played onscreen. The audio and actions of a man and woman are suggestive, but there's no actual nudity in it.

Violence & Gore

  • The sound design is chilling, as the victims very usually gurgle when having their throat slashed and scream due other inflictions of pain. One of the most disturbing kills present in every version is the "Gruesome" (Red) execution with the plastic bag, as the victim's realistic and muffled panic induced screams can be heard as he's beaten down with a bag over his head. This isn't the only disturbing kill, and the list includes setting an enemy on fire or sawing their head off with a handsaw.
  • This game is bloodier, gorier and even more graphically violent than the already extremely brutal and very disturbing first game. It's so violent that it makes the first one look tame in comparison. Definitely one of the most violent games out there.
  • The environmental executions, aerial executions, and gun executions are all extremely gory and brutal, arguably moreso than hasty, moderate, and even some gruesome ones.
  • It should be noted that this game's violence originally merited it an AO-rating when it was released in North America, confirming it as one of the most violent video games ever created. Therefore, the game had to be censored in order to merit an M-rating, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still extremely violent. The original uncensored version of the game is available exclusively for the PC. The fact that this game takes place in the GTA universe doesn't help any either.
  • Manhunt 2 (and it's predecessor) are the video game equivalents of a snuff movie. In this game, players will take on the role of a psychopath as he violently murders everyone he encounters.
  • The executions are extremely violent and disturbing. They have been censored in order to merit an M rating, but they are still very graphic. They include stabbings, beatings with melee weapons, decapitation with axes and saws, suffocation with plastic bags, and just outright murdering the targets with explicit blood and gore.
  • These executions are even more explicit and violent in the AO-rated version. While the visuals in this game are not particularly good, which somewhat lessen the impact of the violent content, it is still incredibly violent, even for more modern video games. It is also worth mentioning that there are executions exclusive to the PC version, all of which had to be removed in order to achieve the lower rating.
  • In the BDSM club in the game, a man is tied to a table and it is implied that he is eviscerated with an electric saw as a painful form of death. Even though this is not actually shown onscreen, it is still incredibly disturbing because he is heard screaming in agony as he is cut apart.
  • It also should noted that the Wii and PC versions actually simulate the violence via motion control/mouse movements. For example, to stab someone in the game, the player has to flick the Wii remote/mouse forward as if they were actually stabbing someone. These versions also show blood splatter onto the character during executions, provided they play via motion sensor/ control.
  • The AO-rated version of the game also includes a scoring system where players are rewarded with point for performing more violent and brutal executions.

Profanity

  • The words "ass", "bastard", "bitch", "blowjob", "damn", "fuck", "goddamn", "hell", "motherfucker", "pussy", and "shit" appear in the dialogue.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A bar is seen with some alcohol within.
  • The character Danny briefly injects himself with a drug.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Much more violent and gruesome than the first game.
  • Not for the faint of heart or the squeamish and only for those with a strong stomach.
  • Similar to the first game, this game is notorious for its extremely graphic content and just shows how truly disturbing it really is. Also, the game has an exceptionally dark theme, story and tone, and it additionally never holds back when it comes to showcasing its nihilistic, cynical, oppresive and depressing nature, as well as its depictions of violence.
  • The whole game, aside from being devilishly gruesome and insanely violent, is extremely disturbing and psychologically crazy. The main character is an amnesiac, mentally-ill asylum patient who must find himself, and his sanity becomes increasingly fragile thanks to the torment of the main villain (who is also his mentor), and the whole story is extremely grimdark and nihilistic. It all comes across as being very akin to Fight Club (1999), and it's not for the faint of heart.
  • Tension is high throughout the game as stealth is the main way to progress through the game. In addition, the game has a very intense and foreboding atmosphere.
  • Aside from the extremely graphic violence, it also should be noted of the fact that the Wii version actually simulates the violence via motion control. For example, to stab someone in the game, the player has to flick the Wii remote forward as if they were actually stabbing someone.
  • Manhunt 2 is an extremely violent and mature game. There is little difference between the AO-rated version and the M-rated version in terms of content. This game is clearly not appropriate for anyone under at least 17-18 years of age.
