Wait for It (#3.1)

Warning: Spoilers
The episode starts right where the last season ended. Right when Barney finishes the announcement that him and Ted being wingmans will once again be .."dary!!!!!".

But they have to deal with their break up, and we get a little competition on who wins it, at least from Ted's side. The hookups of Ted and Robin are played by Enrique Eglesias and Mandy Moore. Both had music hits back in time and Mandy is actually an actress.

I liked Ted's story about how it ended. Him having that tramp stamp and Marshall and Lily showing it to Barney was great. I wonder if he will end up keeping it.

Marshall's crush on Gael was also cute, very Marshall like. I also loved the slap countdown by Marshall at the end of the episode, love how they are playing with it.

An OK Start To Season 3
slightlymad229 December 2014
Enrique Iglesias and Mandy Moore guest star in the first episode of season 3 of "How I Met Your Mother" that picks up exactly where season 2 finished with Barney finishing the word Legendary Plot In A Paragraph: Despite Barney's best efforts Ted is not ready to move on from his split with Robin. That is until she returns from a holiday in Argentina with Gael (Enrique Iglesias) a handsome man who soon has Lily and Marshall under his spell too. Ted responds by going out with Barney and hooking up with a tattoo covered girl (Mandy Moore) who encourages to leave Barney and go get a tattoo with her.

It's an OK episode, helped by the guest stars, I'm surprised HIMYM has opened season 3 with two guest stars, but hey ho.

There are similarities to Season 2's premiere, but the execution is not there and the plot is not as interesting

One of the weaker episodes of the show for me thus far. The plot of Ted attempting to get over his breakup with Robin is similar to Marshall's attempts to get over Lily. Unfortunately, Ted/Robin don't really work that well as a couple and as such, some of the drama just doesn't work and its irritating.

However, there is still humour in the episode, mostly with Marshall I found. His strange love that he develops for "Gayle" was amusing.

Overall, the season premiere could have been much better. Not the start they wanted as we must now contend with the Gael plot for another episode or two.

One of two episodes I skip entirely.

The only reason I skip this episode and the next episode is Enrique Iglesias. He is just annoying and boring and should never ever be allowed to act again.
