Mexican drug-lord Santiango (Armando Leduc) escapes from prison looking for the 15 million dollars he asked his girl to hold on to for him, but she skipped town. Enter Travis (Ameer Baraka ), a cop, who protects the girl from the evil drug-lord. Travis's partner Ray(Kris Kristofferson) is close to retirement and hopes to enjoy it with his young wife.

Poor New Orleans, first Katrina and now this. There's just too many disasters a town can take. From the heavily clichéd storyline to the horrible acting to the swiss cheese filled movie logic, this film is simply amateur hour and is quite a chore to watch indeed. Only for MAJOR DMX fans (he's not a lead despite getting top billing) all others steer clear of this disaster.

The bad boy dynamic duo of the old timer detective with a taste for Willie Nelson and his young African American partner who drives fast and listens to Tupac are on a mission and they'll stop at nothing, even if it means breaking the rules.(oh my...)

The entire film is an exhilarating race from one cliché to the next. There is even a perfect cast to accompany the abhorrent script attached to it's dull plot. This is a classic case of B-movie denial.

I can't say I'm surprised due to the sketchy history for all those involved, but I had expected something better than a backyard film with a hefty budget.

Barely makes "B" list, in my opinion

3 faults with this movie jump out within the first 5 minutes.

1) lousy camera angles (specially mid-way thru, when the main character is racing thru the city with lights/siren, and the camera is in a 'chase' car behind. while most directors would b sure to zoom in on the first car, instead the 'chase' car's lights are shown in the scene)

2) having an inter-racial partnership as main theme. this has been done hundreds of times, and doesn't really work here. especially when it's an obvious clone of Miami vice. I think if both partners were African-American, the story would be more believable.

3) IF you're going to do #2 above, at least pair up 2 actors that can carry the story. I loved DMX's character. However, trying to force the viewer to believe a 72 yr old man would be his partner is ridiculous.

Anyone with common sense knows that there is absolutely no way any police force would allow a 72 yr old officer to be an 'everyday' detective, that would be cruising the streets on a daily basis. It would be highly likely that they'd be enjoying retirement, or at best, would be behind a desk. I would hope Hollywood has more imagination than to keep churning out the same old story-line, every time it wants to do a cop themed movie. How many more do we have to put up with, before we see something new?

This movie will deteriorate your brain.

I took the time to sign up to IMDb solely to express my utter contempt for this waste of film.

I didn't think it was possible to cast the worst actors in the world all in the same movie, but they managed. Terrible acting... sounds like they are reading from the script (for the first time). Not to mention this movie has been done so many times before.

The main character (the black detective who couldn't detect a crime if it fell out of the sky and landed on his face.) actually invoked an emotion in me. Anger... His acting was so terrible it actually made me mad. (Oh yeah, PS.. Take off those unbelievably ridiculous sunglasses.) What a tool.

I give this movie a 1 (since there is no option for 0) I would like that 120 minutes of my life back.

I just lost 1h20m of my life ! This movie is awful ! I'm not kidding ! The plot is lame ,dialogs are pathetic ,acting is even worst ! Kris Kristofferson (the only real 'actor' in this 'movie' ) plays his part like a rookie . DMX (the star on the cover) appears for 4-5 minutes in the whole movie ,trying to revenge something that the director though it will be insignificant to show us .Special effects are way behind ,looking like some "80's wanna be blockbuster" The movie ends with a scene that wants to be ...i don't know how to say it , "i never wanna see something like this again" ,or "god ,why did i pay for this !!!" But hey ,who knows ,maybe you'll like it ! ( i sincerely doubt it ! ).

Like the man said, I'd like the time back I spent watching this. Most amusing to me was the amount of time spent with the two of them in the car, and the rear window chroma or CGI which reminded me of the "Toonces the Driving Cat" skits on SNL. It's no wonder they didn't list filming locations, most of this could have been done in someone's garage.

And way to take one more smack at post katrina nawlins, folks.

People who know me will recall I often say there is no such thing as a bad pizza or a bad movie.

I have to strike that last part now.

This is a stinker.

I've seen films by grade 10 students, who could do a better job then Garcia has done at writing and producing. Who the hell bank rolls this kind of crap. Christoffersen looks like he should be on his death bed and where the hell did they get this cast of so called actors from? Within 5 min of the start of this I wanted to shut it down but for some reason I watched the full 83 min of this crap and decided I had to go on the internet to see who this idiot was who produced it. I could not find a comment about anything he has done that actually gave proof to the fact that this guy has one bit of talent when it comes to writing and producing. I believe that dmx gave him a bunch of his cash to make him a movie star but they together have failed miserably at this and If dmx really believes that he was that good at what he does he had better start saving his cash because it won't last long enough to make that sorry rapper a movie star.Take it from me a complete and utter waste of 1 hr and 23 min of anyones life who would even consider renting this garbage...

Just terrible

Kris Kristoferson should be ashamed for taking a role in this garbage heap. The acting was horrible on countless levels. Honestly, not one strong performance (including Kris). Not even one "good" performance.

The script was atrocious. The delivery was even worse. The acting quality was about on par with a late night Cinemax soft-core porn flick. The storyline was about as common and cliché as they come and seemed pieced together, disjointed and boring. And to boot, the video quality was very poor. I watched this in HD and it looked more like a VHS-quality movie - very grainy and low budget.

How anyone can say this is a great movie is beyond me. What is wrong with people?

This is a movie called " Jump out boys ", but was peddled as a film called " Lords of The Streets. " Watching this film one asks the question, why Kris Kristofferson? Was he just looking for work of any kind? He is a top notched actor and has proved himself in many other films. So why this film? I can only ascertain that the man is unemployed, and has to do something to pay the bills. With very little screen time, one can only watch the movie with patience and regret. The story is that of a Mexican Warlord who has the where-with-all to plan a superb Prison escape and then searches for his girl-friend accomplice who now works as a government informant. Indeed, after the daring escape, which is the best part of the film, the movie is all down hill as the ruthless leader, begins making mistakes everywhere. Kris Kristofferson plays Raymond, an aging New Orleans Officer, who gives his partner 90 percent of the story line and then humbly takes bows. The movie itself is poor, the acting is second rate and the rest of the movie is standard at best. It's far from a great film and one wonders if there is a refund. Except for some selected scenes, the movie is not recommended to anyone save those who are forced to sit through the rest of this second rate movie. **

NOT GOOD AT ALL!!!

Dreadful dialogues. No magic between the actors. The main villains are laughably weak, and there is hardly anything interesting going on at all. Uninspired scenario: The plot moved from implausible to downright absurd.

Kris Kristofferson is too old for a movie like this. In the movie, his wife is ovulating! He's like 90 years old. The entire movie is filled with irrelevant information. What the hell is DMX doing in this film? Punisher wannabe for hire? It's a shame to hear Willie Nelson's name in a crappy movie like this! Don't watch it, don't rent it, ... Forget it!

Really Good Movie!

This film was a classic buddy cop film. It really takes you into the swamps and backroads of Louisiana. The script was pretty good, and DMX was awesome as usual. It seems like most of the reviewers above are wanna- be film makers who don't have the means to make their own corny films, so they stand around and poke holes at the projects of real film makers who are doing it.

This piece was action packed and the special effects were good. And man, Ciera Payton is hot. I also noticed the rappers Kane and Abel in this. They were pretty good too. Great film!!! I really enjoyed it and I recommend it to the masses!

Adventure into an American underworld fraught with peril

Jump Out Boys jumped right off of the screen and into my heart. In the word's of Emily Dickinson, "How strange that nature does not knock, and yet does not intrude! " Indeed, the film dances temptously at the fringes of the soul, beckoning the viewer to step into its world of hooligans, scoundrels, and flagrant tomfoolery. The piece is mixture of disparate film-making disciplines, the proverbial love child of early films such as Meshes of The Afternoon and The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari. Sheldon Robins gives a heart-stopping performance as Detective McCoy, a rebellious DEA agent with a heart of gold. Singer/songwriter DMX comes across as tough yet vulnerable. Kris Kristofferson and Ameer Baraka keep it cool as two detectives who play by nobody's rules but their own. The sumptuous photography carries us from the skies, to the swamp's of Louisiana, and into our very souls. Bravo.

Bad from the get go

If your instinct tells you that a film is not worth the watch, heed the warning, find another film instead. Because failure to do so may cause you to waste your precious time.

I learn it the hard way. I decided to watch this film even though my instinct told me not to.

This film is bad from the get go. The cast is terrible (LOL DMX as the main guy? You have got to be kidding me!). And the other actors weren't that convincing either.

And the worst part of this film is the camera angles. It is so amateurish and lacked quality. It was like watching high school kids doing some assignment for the schoolwork.

Verdict : DMX can't act . Period .

One Bad Movie

This movie was just bad overall with a poorly written script along with an unrealistic plot and mediocre acting at best especially by DMX. The cinematography was however good along with the special effects and there were some intense action scenes.

A lot of cliches

If I hadn't seen 'Post Katrina' des in the description, I would have thought this was made in the 80's. It flows like a typical 80's action movie, with cliched characters and plot. It wasn't that bad, it's just that it's been done many times before, and done better by the time the 90's came around.
