ridiculous premise
SnoopyStyle18 July 2021
Layla (Alexandra Chando) and Derrick (Mike Merrill) are bickering co-hosts of a Chicago morning TV show. They hate each other. They are getting an audition for a big L. A. morning show. Someone leaves a baby for them in their dressing room. The mother is dead. Custody was left to an elderly neighbor who is a huge fan and sees them as the perfect parents for the baby.

The premise is ridiculous but I do like this pairing. They have fun combative chemistry. On the other hand, the story is stupid. It would be marginally better if the baby's parents are unknown and the show does a drive to find them. It would still be wrong but that wrong can be ignored. This is completely unignorable. The chemistry is there if only it's used in a better movie. Even with the best casting, this story would ultimately run out of steam.

BORING!!!
evamas-0175422 April 2021
I rated it 2 because of the two lead actors. Everything else is just so predictable and boring. If I had something else to watch, even if it's worse, I'd take that. This is the kinda movie you play when you wanna take a nap so it will just keep playing in the background. I can't even understand how it's rated so high..

Sad ending for the plot
anzhelika-5694720 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I loved the story at first and how they would co parent the baby hated the end they basically abandoned the baby to strangers to adopt and didn't keep their word to keep the baby how they said they would in the beginning. I'm sad if you wishing for happy ending their isn't in that way . It's happy only for them if they were going to abandon the baby in first place they could of done that in the beginning end of story wasted my time watching and wishing for a happy story. I'm very disappointed in this movie. It wasn't at all what I thought it would be, they basically abandoned the daughter they fell in love with and didn't regret for second only thought of their careers . They only thought about themselves. They ended selfish as in the beginning except together. If you want to watch about a happy ending as a family him, her and poppy this isn't the story.

Rough start
Jackbv12323 March 2021
This is a somewhat unusual premise, but it has been done, more or less. And of course we know how it's going to end up, although there was a tiny twist along the way.

My title implies it didn't start well. I hated Layla. She is arrogant and selfish, a narcissist. Her smile is pasted on and her exuberance seems fake. Actually, I'm not sure I ever thought that Alexandra Chando's smile was totally sincere, but the rest changes. Unfortunately, it changes instantly and then the character growth experience follows the change, which of course is backwards. The baby is the obvious reason, but there is a little bit deeper of a story about Layla that comes out toward the latter half of the movie.

I'd like to say there was chemistry between Chando and Mike Merrill, and there was some, but it really seems to me that this movie is about Layla. Layla and Derrrick. Layla and the baby. Layla and Derrick's mom. Layla and her fans. Layla and her career. I don't think the romance story was as important as Layla's development. Usually in these movies, I'm all about the relationship, but in this movie, I enjoyed watching Layla become an amazing person.

Derrick has some moments and he is definitely likeable.

The baby is definitely cute. There is a short segment focused on the baby just being cute and it was worth every second.
