Seriously, what's up with her(Batwoman or Kate) always being in one embrace or another right from the get-go? What happened to the story? We all know how hard it is for any normal person let alone a hero to have a normal life, especially a clandestine night hero living with a double , maybe triple life. It detracts from any real story being built up and the correct drama/action sequence to really play out. Someone must owe someone a really big favor to keep up with this charade of a show. Believe me I am rooting for this show but it started out hard to watch. They Canceled Birds of Pray 2002 and that show was stellar compared to this..

This episode featuring a very underused villain magpie and kates first relationship she has to cancel due to being batwoman all that happens in one episode and I was still bored wasn't really poorly done just should have taken up a bit more of the episode with magpie and pushed the relationship stuff to the next episode as well.
The Alice plot seems so be going very slowly as well like all the other arrowverse shows they're going to have to spice up the villian of the week episodes my suggestion would be Mr freeze, scarecrow or Firefly someone tough to challenge batwoman snd iconic enough to warrant the constant Batman reference.

Finally the series furnishes a costumed female adversary for the eponymous superheroine!
Looking like a blonde version with a blue rinse of Kelly Lynch as Luanne in 'Mr. Magoo', Rachel Matthews as Magpie shows definite promise as a psycho Special Guest Villain. Unfortunately she's offscreen most of the time before eventually being defeated insultingly quickly (and humiliated by being dunked like the crooks always are at the end of a Children's Film Foundation production); after which the episode even more insultingly meanders on for another five minutes with nary a backward glance after she's been packed off to the slammer.
Hopefully she'll soon escape from Arkham, her anti-social inclinations still intact. She could certainly exploit Batwoman's Achilles heel by teasing her the way The Catwoman did Batman. But next time maybe she'll get a bit more screentime, Huh? She could hardly get less...

I think my major problem with this episode is the under utilized villain. She almost comes off as just a nuisance that can quickly be handled whenever Kate is done dealing with her own problems. I really do not like seeing that and it happens in all the cw shows. These are 20+ episode seasons can we at least have a handful of villains get two episode arcs. Acting is fine except for the father's one random outburst per episode it seems. Overall story line seems to be progressing slowly but then will have a way to fast wrap up finale. Love them or hate them CW definitely has a pattern with their story telling all the more reason this show should be kept in the same respect as the rest of the lineup.

I think the series is being rushed and not taking their time. Why the hurry? I don't think they will put 22 episodes just like The Flash and Arrow. The writers should give out the mystery elements too much otherwise we are going to see a lot of filler episodes.
Pros- Batwoman using her utility belt. Scientific points were used and of course Fox as her advisor.
Cons- The love scene was little longer than expected. The villain didn't had a purpose. In fact, I don't think anyone will remember!

More of the same bad acting, weak plot as the previous 3 episodes. The exploding pearls scene was the biggest joke yet. Yes we get it, you are a lesbian, we don't care... Get on with the bat stuff...
Warning... If you have a Batwoman comic within 20 feet of the TV while watching this show, it could spontaneously combust.

As a fan of the pervious episodes it pains me to say this episode of batwoman wasn't the best but I still really enjoy this show. The problem with this episode is mostly the random villain that shows up out of no where to be the catwoman like character on this serious and I'm hoping she is a one episode character because I was not a big fan of her. The pacing in this episode is not the best and this episode was just boring. But that doesn't mean there is not good parts of this episode the cast Especially ruby rose was great as usually. Alice once again suprised me with her performance as the villain. The action is also great. Overall a decent episode but after the last episode this one is pretty disappointing but I can't wait to see next weeks episode.
Pure garbage.

Since I can post my opinion and to counter the one review who sees everything about this episode as "garbage", allow me to give a more realistic take.
Watch it and be your own judge. It takes place in the Arrowverse, if you can like/stand the other shows, it is the same sort, a comic book.

Acting is still awful. The fight scene was some of the biggest rubbish I've ever seen. And still nobody cares about sexual orientation anymore, yet you still think we all do and rub it in our faces.
I genuinely fast forward it. And only watch invade there's a arrow/flash link before/mention before crisis.
O and batMAN will ALWAYS be superior. So get over it.

I've been a fan of Super Hero comics fir as long as I can remember and couldn't be more pleased to see the genre finally making it onto the screen.
However, what's spoiling it for me and promoting me to start tuning out of this and other DC shows is the production team's obsession with including LGBT relationships in every production!
It's not as if the relationships add anything to the storyline, that could be accepted, No, it appears to be done purely for effect, and unfortunately to the detriment of the shows!

Kate can't balance a relationship , she just met a girl, banged her used her like a toy and threw her away. I wonder if it was man what would the blue check-marks say if a man did that to a women?
Now Kate owns Wayne enterprises for some reason. I guess that's how company's work she just walks in like she owns the place after she threatened Luke from the start but now they are best friends.
Now we go from villain to villain every episode, last episode was Hush that the had to ruin, and now there is Magpie they have to ruin to.
Kate is getting hot watching how her kidnap victim is tied up in her dungeon not gonna say more about that more than she is building up her criminal record a lot this episode and will even more episodes to come.
I will give credit where credits due, because Ruby Rose has not been good at all, but the scene where she is using the voice changer she can actually act a bit. That's the only good thing I got to say.
The "Baturnang" has to be broken because Kate can't use it.. its not that she need to learn to throw them so Luke has to fix them because Kate is the best in the world at everything you know because of she say no to hotdogs and yes to buns if you know what i mean ;) .
And the whole thing about the cold room is just dumb, why can't she just walk in, when she needs to breath just walk back out and walk in again when she has taken a breath? Oh just so the plot can happend so they can poke more holes in to it.
I could do this whole day but I feel these things are the worst and it shows you exactly how bad the show is and how far away from normal human interaction the writers are.
