Oh dear. The Poohniverse is expanding. Umbrella Entertainment has released the first teaser for the next installment of their B-movie horror franchise centered on horrifying versions of beloved children’s characters.
In the teaser for Bambi: The Reckoning, two hunters are seen practicing shooting in the woods with a dead bird tied to a tree. “You ever shot a deer?” one hunter asks the other. “No. Have you?” the second hunter replies. “Yeah, once,” the first hunter says. The teaser seems to imply that this hunter is the same one who killed Bambi’s mother.
The final shots of the teaser show a vicious and angry deer attacking a car. The vehicle turns completely over before the deer lets out a guttural roar. The main plot of the film is said to follow characters Xana (Roxanne McKee) and her son Benji (Tom Mulheron) who are in the car wreck and...

Producers Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Jeffrey are building a cinematic universe out of horror movies based on public domain family friendly stories – including Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, that film’s sequels, Pinocchio Unstrung, and Bambi: The Reckoning, which is inspired by Felix Salten’s 1923 novel Bambi, a Life in the Woods. The brand new trailer for Bambi: The Reckoning has arrived, giving a first look at the latest Poohniverse installment entry that puts a horror twist on a classic children’s property.
It follows “Xana (Roxanne McKee) and her son Benji (Tom Mulheron) who find themselves in a car wreck and soon hunted down by the vicious killing machine, Bambi.”
That’s right. There’s nothing sweet and doe-eyed about Bambi this time. See for yourself in the teaser trailer below.
Filming on Bambi: The Reckoning kicked off on January 6, 2024 in England with a planned Fall 2024 release.
Director Dan Allen (Unhinged) previews, “It’s gonna be terrifying. When people see a deer in the wild after this film they’re gonna run for the hills. This film is about the death of childhoods as much as it’s gonna ruin childhoods Expect bloodshed, tears and rabbits… and one mean killer deer.

The free domain is opening up so many possibilities, including the opportunity for the mutants of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey to expand into a wider Poohniverse! This new horror cinematic universe will include a slew of crossovers with other totally-not-Disney characters.
Variety is the bearer of this news, whether a blessing or a curse. As a longtime horror writer, I’m all for more low-budget slashers with a gimmick. So, how much of a good thing is too much?
We’ll find out soon, for sure. The Poohniverse includes Tinkerbell, Bambi, The Mad Hatter, and Sleeping Beauty. This massive horror movie version of the MCU will land sometime in 2025.
What’s the overarching storyline of this cavalcade of free-to-use figures? They’re all out to get the survivors of the earlier films (including the ones that are yet to be released).

Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 hits theaters March 26, 27, 28th from Fathom Events, a sequel to last year’s viral hit that ended up making nearly $5 million at the box office. ITN Studios & Jagged Edge Productions are all-in on their “Twisted Childhood Universe,” but what’s the end game? As it turns out, they’re planning an Avengers-style mashup.
For starters, the growing “Twisted Childhood Universe” will feature previously announced stand-alone films Bambi: The Reckoning, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare and Pinocchio Unstrung and introduce new characters such as Sleeping Beauty, The Mad Hatter, and Rabbit from Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey.
All of these characters will come together in Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble in 2025 when the monsters join forces to take down the world.
Blood and Honey 2‘s end credits will feature a first look at the upcoming Poohniverse.
Producer of Jagged Edge Productions Rhys Frake-Waterfield explains, “It will be complete carnage.

Six years after “Avengers: Infinity War,” another film is vying to become the most ambitious crossover event in history, this time in the lower-budget cinematic realm.
The filmmakers behind “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” — the micro-budget slasher that sparked headlines for turning A. A. Milne’s jovial bear into a feral serial killer and made an incredible $5.2 million at the box office after costing under $50,000 to make — have unveiled “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble,” bringing together Pooh and various other beloved children’s characters gone bad.
Where “Avengers: Infinity War” had Iron Man, Spider-Man, Black Panther and Thanos, “Poohniverse” — from prolific horror collaborators Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios — will team Winnie the Pooh with murderous versions of figures including Bambi, Tinkerbell, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tigger, Piglet, The Mad Hatter and Sleeping Beauty for an IP-bludgeoning frenzy due for release in 2025. Indeed, on the poster, which Variety is also able to exclusively reveal,...

Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” isn’t new to the “turn something innocent into a horror movie” fad. Brave gamers might remember diving into the twisted mind of American McGee’s Alice, or indie film diehards could have caught 2010’s Alice in Murderland. Writer and director Richard John Taylor explores forbidden but charted territory with his fresh psychological thriller Alice in Terrorland, which can’t help but earn comparisons to other horror forward Wonderland adaptations. Luckily for Taylor’s cerebrally nasty and visually slick reimagining, the average lookalike doesn’t set a high bar to clear — hardly spectacular, but damn sure better than something like Alice in Murderland.
Lizzy Willis stars as little orphan Alice (named after Carroll’s book), the only survivor of a house fire that claimed her parents’ lives. Alice relocates to her grandmother’s sprawling yet dilapidated estate, where Ruth (Rula Lenska) assumes caretaking duties.

Bury the Bride, which recently debuted as a Tubi Original, is the second film from director Spider One and co-writer Krsy Fox after last year’s Allegoria. Spider One, for those not into the industrial metal scene, is the singer and only consistent member of the band Powerman 5000; and probably more important to his expansion into filmmaking, he’s Rob Zombie’s younger brother.
And Bury the Bride certainly opens like one of his brother’s films as credits playing over an old-timey love song give way to green-tinted footage of a woman hacking at someone or something just out of sight. And then to a group of women talking about the dick size of someone’s fiance while another tries, and loudly announces her failure,...

As the news breaks that Alec Baldwin has been cleared of involuntary manslaughter over the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins, family and friends of the late cinematographer will be remembering her life and career.
Baldwin was starring in a western film called Rust in Santa Fe, New Mexico, when a prop firearm he was holding discharged, killing Halyna Hutchins, the director of photography, and injuring the director Joul Souza, police said. Hutchins was 42 years old.
While a lawsuit from Hutchins family alleged that the actor “recklessly shot and killed” her, Baldwin, 64, repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in the shooting. The actor maintained that he was told the gun was “cold”, meaning it had no live ammunition, and that as he cocked the gun it went off without him pulling the trigger.
On Thursday, Baldwin’s lawyers announced that all charges against him had been dropped. The decision came weeks before he was due to stand trial.

Colleagues of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, the Dp fatally shot on the set of “Rust” in New Mexico last month in an apparent accidental discharge of a prop gun, paid tribute to her vision and skill at the EnergaCamerimage Film Festival, an event dedicated to the art of cinematography, on Sunday. Hutchins, who was 42 and has been remembered throughout the film industry as a talented artist, died from her injuries after being hit along with director Joel Souza, who is recovering from his injuries.
Actor Alec Baldwin, an actor in “Rust” as well as a producer, fired the prop gun during a scene rehearsal and has told investigators he had no idea the weapon was loaded with a dangerous round. He has since been sued by a crew member over safety issues on set, an issue that has also prompted the ire of George Clooney, who has called the shooting “insane and infuriating.

Matt Hutchins, the husband of the late cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, has given a statement regarding the fatal tragedy that occurred on the set of “Rust” in which a prop firearm discharged and killed Halyna.
Matt released a statement through his Twitter alongside a picture of Halyna.
“Halyna inspired us all with her passion and vision, and her legacy is too meaningful to encapsulate in words,” Matt wrote. “Our loss is enormous, and we ask that the media please respect my family’s privacy as we process our grief. We thank everyone for sharing images and stories of her life.”

Michael Nell knew he needed somebody great to help him capture the darker side of Los Angeles — a world of low-rent motels, bar rooms and back alleys — for “Blindfire.” The movie, which was set to mark Nell’s feature debut, was a tense police thriller that examined issues of social justice and race, and it would take a master of the camera to help him pull it off. That’s how the neophyte director first connected with Halyna Hutchins, a rising cinematographer who was making a name for herself shooting short films and low-budget indies like “Darlin'” and “Snowbound.”
On Thursday, while Hutchins was in New Mexico shooting “Rust,” a Western starring Alec Baldwin, she was shot by a prop gun that contained a live round of ammunition and died at the age of 42. "Something is happening... Something is wrong... I'm seeing things..." Blue Fox Entertainment has released an official trailer for an indie horror film titled The Mad Hatter, set to be released sometime this summer. The film marks the feature directorial debut of a storyboard artist on Scott Derrickson's movies now making her first feature. Henry, and three of his classmates, encounter mind-bending ghostly terrors when they volunteer for a weekend study with their psychology professor in the haunted 'Mad Hatter' mansion. Supposedly haunted by those who died at a lavish party in the 1880s. I dig the smoldering embers look of all the ghosts, just hope the rest of it lives up to that potential for something really cool. The film stars Armando Gutierrez, Samuel Caleb Walker, Isadora Cruz, Nick Miller, Michael Berryman, and Rachel Brunner. This does look extremely creepy - check it out. Here's the two main trailers...
