Smart Take on Life and Maturity
gsandra-2687626 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Huge effort by the director and crew of the journeys of four different people starting from high school and progressing through the next several years of their lives and development. The male white student seemed genetically gifted with high intelligence while struggling with mild autistic tendencies which he really battled to overcome. He seemed to do well overall. The white female student came from a religious, conservative background and grew to become a truly international personality with tremendous social gifts that fed her growth. The black female came from a loving family, had aspirations of higher education, but was, as she explained, not given the quality education in grade-and high-school that children got in higher-income areas. The black male had a rough start with an absent birth father and addicted mother, was adopted and then abandoned, but welcomed into the family of his white girlfriend and her family. Higher education was a struggle for this student-athlete again because of education disparity and attendant employment future. But he worked through divorce and different jobs until he found his stride in the insurance industry. These were four lovely young people with grit and determination -- doing their best to find their place in the world. Good luck to you all in the rest of your lives.

A walk through in career journeys of few chosen high school students
namita050824 January 2020
This movie is an assorted real life footage of journey of students from high school who seemed to be 'most likely to succeed'. It's interesting to see each one of their paths and where life led them. It can be nice watch for someone who likes to study human behavior and eventuality of possibilities in one's life. Also, it can be a good reference for young students to learn and better prepare for their future. Circumstances can not stop determined minds!

It's a fun watch

Sad to see the typical, racist, modern narrative, start and get played out, but it's not a bad film.

The film makers picked white, affluent kids and black, poor kids to make their point, which is actually a very 2007ish concept that brings us to today.

Something more original and interesting might have included hispanic, poor kids vs asian rich kids.

The Evolution of a High-Achievement Self
ethanarmstrong798 September 2020
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Similar to the "7 Up" documentary series, which follows subjects from childhood into adulthood. "Most Likely To Succeed" follows several high-schoolers through college, early career, key relationships, and into early adulthood. At times, fate seems to diverge along class (and also racial) lines among the subjects. It's also quite fascinating to witness the evolution of their personalities, as their experiences shape their view of themselves, their upbringing, privilege, hardship, and overarching life trajectory. There are some very heart-warming and inspiring moments, and is a great case study in psycho-social development.

Wholesome Documentary

I don't know how to review a documentary, but I'll tell you what I had a good time watching this. I haven't seen a good documentary that didn't have heavy political interjections in a LONGG time. So this was good sweet refreshing fun. It was wildly interesting to see normal peoples lives over the span of ten years. Very cool, very thought provoking, very eye opening and humbling as well. I would recommend this documentary to any and all.
