Bittersweetness in Prague
The tone of this piece is quite maudlin mildly depressed; it recounts four friends and the interpersonal relationships of the four; their wives; their jobs the onset of middle age. It is done very nicely; It has a sweetness about it.

A strange element in this is that it feels like the movie lasts for hours but you're never really bored.

And not that much really happens.

Quite entertaining and really quite endearing; the actors are very good the city of Prague looks amazing in most of the scenes.

Towards the end one event happens and all the dysfunctionality that was present in the lives of the protagonists seems to vanish and a sense of order and purpose is restored

One could accuse this film of being a remake of many others but that would be a massive injustice; in fact there is something original in there indefinable and it leaves you feeling quite warm towards humanity and the tribulations of normal folks in their daily normal lives ....

PS there is some good rock music at some point one of the actors if it is him really singing is a very gifted vocalist.
