Pool and Hustling
Swimming with Sharks: The Art of the Hustle (2007)
*** (out of 4)
This here is another nice featurette that was produced for Paul Newman's THE HUSTLER DVD (and now on the Blu-ray). It features author R.A. Dyer and pro pool player Max Eberle as they discuss the history of pool and hustling. If you're unfamiliar with the history of pool then Dyer really offers a nice overview of the sport and how it got started and when the hustling side of things started to come into play. He also talks about the impact that THE HUSTLER had on the sport and talks about some of the legendary players who played the sport. Eberle is on hand to discuss the proper ways to try and hustle someone and he then shows a few trick shots that can be done when playing to try and get one up on your opponent. Overall there's certainly nothing great here but I found the featurette to be entertaining and educational, which was its purpose.
