Sex & Nudity

  • A series of tunnels shows many couples engaged in BDSM sex acts.
  • Erotic dancing at orgy/parties is seen extensively throughout the movie with severely sexualized female imagery & nudity, especially bare breasts, inclusive of many full frontals. Sexually explicit dialogue, innuendo & acts are frequent.
  • There is a lot of female nudity during party/orgy scenes, with topless women walking around and/or dancing sexually. Naked buttocks & full frontal nudity of several couples engaged in sex acts is also seen as the camera pans the crowd.
  • Two scenes depicting women sexually kissing each other.
  • A lesbian performer sings an explicitly sexual song about female genitalia.
  • At an orgy, a man on a stage in front of many women presents a small person holding a giant fake penis. The genitalia is in view for over a minute while the jazz band talks. At the end of their conversation it sprays fake semen over the audience.
  • A woman performs an erotic dance for a group of men which includes her lifting her dress to reveal her scantily clad crotch to the men as well as her pulling down her top to display her bare breast in a closeup shot.
  • Groups of nude women including full frontal female nudity
  • There is a short scene... maybe five to ten seconds of a female urinating on a male.
  • We see Jack's bare butt thrusting as he and Jen the waitress have sex standing up at one of the parties.
  • A lengthy scene features an adult female wearing a sexualized student school uniform with no bra in a sheer transparent white top the displays extended details of her bare breasts underneath.
  • The opening thirty minutes of the film are filled to the brim with graphic sex and nudity. Countless naked women are graphically shown in full view, with tons of bare breasts and full frontal, hairy genitals. There is tons more graphic sex and full frontal nudity throughout the film.
  • Nellie dances sexually for an extended period of time and rubs her chest and rubs/grabs her crotch constantly. She also pushes a man's head into her groin in another dance scene. Her panties are constantly seen whenever she dances.

Violence & Gore

  • There are two women fighting in a cage seen covered in both mud and blood. Blood sprays from both of their faces each time they get punched.
  • A man is hit in the neck with a spiked club. We see lots of blood gush out of the wound, and once the club is removed from his neck, blood sprays out
  • A woman "fights" a rattlesnake in the desert. But it bites her neck and she passes out. The snake is cut in half and the head of the snake gets removed from her neck; we see a brief blood spray. The wound is seen in closeup as another woman sucks out the venom from her neck.
  • A man shoots himself and blood goes on a bathroom wall
  • A hitman kills two people in a kitchen. Lots of blood sprays on the wall and onto another man.
  • A newspaper briefly shows an image of a woman who has slit her wrists. This is shown quickly and in black and white.
  • During the shooting of a battle sequence, many extras sustain injuries which are shown afterwards. This includes brief sightings of legs and necks that are slashed, along with a man who is shown dead, having been stabbed through the stomach with a flagpole with some blood around the wound.
  • A woman is shown briefly after ODing. She has froth at the mouth and blood streaming out of her nose. This is not too graphic.

  • There is a brief suicide offscreen

  • Expect much stronger and more frequent profanity than in Damien Chazelle's first three movies.

  • The movie codifies drug, alcohol use and ties its use to happier times in the characters lives as the movie progresses.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There are lots of scenes depicting wild and reckless behavior throughout the movie, with lots of characters shown acting recklessly under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Aside from that, there are also a couple of scenes of graphic violence.
