Excellent series

Came across this completely by chance on the Smithsonian TV channel.

Good to see Clive Anderson has lost none of his wit, and the relatively lighthearted approach suits the series well, and makes it very watchable.

Just wish it was available on disc to buy.

Mary-Ann has to be one of the more interesting people on TV that I've seen. I'd honestly watch any informative thing she was in.

Witty History Tour

I'm an American of English and Scottish ancestry, so was drawn to the series immediately. Rarely do you see lighthearted humor in combination with a scholarly walk back in time, but this program makes it happen. Love the program's insights on Stonehenge, witchcraft, the Roman invasion, and, yes, even human sacrifice. They do a great job explaining it all.

Thought this might be good but Clive Andersons annoying interruptions spoils what could have been a good and interesting program.

I found this show completely by chance and its a gem. Clive's wacky sense of humor combines perfectly with Mary Ann's pleasant knowledgeability. And the stories are interesting and fresh, I had never heard of many of these sites and stories before, Wharram Percy in particular blew me away. Zombies in Medieval England - who'da thunk it? And I love thay have chsosen out of the way places and not rehashed old ground. I really hope more series are forthcoming. The Smithsonian Channel is a real treasure trove of fresh and interesting documentaries, I look forward to watching many more interesting stories.
