The first episode of season 4 really gives no idea of what happened after the ending of season 3 between Mac and Desi, but it still has promise! I am excited that Friday night tv has at least one show that's still worth watching. The other Friday night shows have become too dark and not entertaining. It's good to have a show that can still make you jump, laugh and hang on to your seat!
I'm thankful that Macgyver is back. Just wished it had started earlier.....

So series 3 ends in a certain kind of way. Then this series 4 starts with a different kind of way? There is absolutely no relation between the end of series 3 & the beginning of series 4. This is rather confusing when & if you watch it.

McGyver could never been considered Award Winning but this episode eliminated the one entertaining piece of the show: how he takes everyday articles and converts them into necessary items or equipment in order to assist the team in completing a mission. The removal of George Eads, one of the more interesting and real characters, last Season was a mistake. But, this episode degenerated into a formulaic program of the worst kind with holes of how four wanted individuals some how travelled on whatever without capture. The ending, likewise, was poorly scripted and delivered. This show replaced Magnum PI which still has some merit, unlike this mess.

I loved the first 3 seasons of MacGyver but I gotta say this episode felt more like a so-so awkward pilot episode than a season 4 premier. I think it really hurt the show starting this late and it was super confusing like the whole time jump the show did cutting out the whole relationship between Mac & Desi its like they were building up to a relationship and had the audience hoping for a relationship and the next thing it comes out they had one and now it was over never giving the audience the ability to watch how any of it play out. I also felt like the characters didn't have the same connection they did in the prior seasons (I think George Eads leaving really hit the show hard). I hope the show can find its footing again...

For this I have to miss the weekly adventures of Perdita Weeks (Magnum P.I. (2018)) until April 10th?
OK, part of it is that it took to long getting the gang back together, plus the story was not compelling. Maybe next week when they can devote the entire episode to the story it will be better.
Add to that a major technical error, 6 is being generous.

This show needs to makeover the cast. Mac never had a bunch of kids hanging around. If they're trying to appeal to a younger crowd just remember who's sitting home Friday nights watching TV. Reason blue bloods and H50 are popular

What is that smell? I suspect it is the smell of desperation - coming from a team of writers who have lost all their creativity and originality.
The opening episode of season four was so bad, so horribly bad that my seven year old nephew commented on the abrusurdly "bad science". The City of Los Angeles is saved, at the last moment, by a component found in disposable diapers.
CBS needs to pull the plug on this series - there is no life left.

I've tried to look past the bad writing, the bad acting and the bad science, 2 of which seem to always be present but this episode was so bad I actually stopped watching. I can't believe this steaming pile of garbage of an episode actually made it on the air. I loved the original MacGuyver when I was a kid and have stuck with this one over nostalgia but this episode was so bad I'm just done.
