Fan of the SBMD series but ...
chris-j-chuba15 September 2020
I didn't care for this one. I loved the first three 'Stalked by my Doctors' but this one dropped the elements that I liked about the first three. He was more cold blooded in this version. In this one he pronounces, 'my name is Dr. Beck' before he kills someone as if he is a famous serial killer. In the first three you could see he was or could be a nice guy but driven to extreme behavior. He was also less clever and more brutish in this one.

I agree w/the reviewer who wondered why he ignored Emilie Ullerup who actually did like him and it was not a hallucination, couldn't believe she was 50, she was smokin.

Not bad by LFM standards. Just felt that this one misfired a bit. Don't like the direction they took it in but perhaps they felt they had to try something different w/his character.

Why Michelle?
doycesub28 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I like Emilie Ullerup in this!! I find myself wishing that the policeman in the first few minutes had shot the doctor and made the story have a different line. Why hasn't anybody shot this crazy doctor by now!! I found the dual personality part with Eric Roberts kind of tedious and soon tired of that dialogue. Enjoyable for Emilie and the Katie character. I tired of the main plot very early!!

Intriguing, but failed

One of the worst movies I've ever seen. The thinking of this movie was intriguing, but the delivery was kinda sick. I think the killing part was unnecessary, I don't even understand why that happened.

Ham-Fisted Approach to a Stalker Film
lavatch11 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode in the "Stalked By My Doctor" series did not pack much of a wallop in the area of suspense. Rather, the filmmakers took the audience on a journey of over-the-top acting and standard character types that do not add up to desired effect of dark comedy.

Michelle is a victim of what the film calls "sexomnia." In the act of sleepwalking, Michelle seeks out sexual partners. She murdered her husband who got mad at her for her nocturnal trysts, and she avoided prison time by convincing the authorities that it was an act of self-defense. Now, she is in trouble again for crashing a wedding party and putting moves on the unsuspecting groom.

Our protagonist seeks help in a clinic where she is treated by a Dr. Tanner, who is in fact Dr. Beck, a psychopathic heart surgeon and predator. Beck murdered the real Dr. Tanner and stole his identity. At first, Beck has designs on Michelle. But, after he meets her niece Katie, Beck shifts his focus to lure her the niece into therapy.

One of clumsiest aspects of the film was the development of two characters who are the alter-egos of Dr. Beck, tormenting him with words of advice and rebuke. One of the characters was an exact lookalike and the other was the mysterious Nicky Bismar. Neither character added anything to the film other than to slow down already labored pace.

The actors did their best to rise above the shallow material. But it would have helped if there had been even a sliver of reality apparent in the plot, characters, and dialogue. There was none, and the result was a rather nasty and forgettable film viewing experience.

"Sharknado" Comes To Lifetime
Stoshie17 July 2019
Not literally, of course. But c'mon, these "Stalked by My Doctor" movies are pretty much the same as the "Sharknado" movies. By which I mean over-the-top acting, with absurd plots (even by Lifetime standards), to be taken tongue-in-cheek, not seriously.

Eric Roberts seems to enjoy himself as he chews the scenery as the evil doctor with the split personality. Everyone else tries to keep a straight face as they play their ridiculous and stereotypical roles. I doubt if the girl who played "Katie" will be using this in her portfolio to try to get other jobs, just as one example.

These movies are kind of fun, not to be taken seriously. Not that many Lifetime movies should be, but these least of all.

So, why 7 stars? Just because you can put your brain on hold for 2 hours and let the silliness distract you for a while.

The Best Worst Movie Ever
jonmanconman14 December 2019
Somehow worse than the first three or so, but still funny to an extent.

I'm still not sure if this series is meant to be a joke or not yet, but these Lifetime films are nearly unwatchable.

Am I the only one disgusted?
steenie-6539110 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand this series of movies, nor do I understand the hype for Eric Roberts. Am I the only one that was disgusted when he was kissing the young girl? I had to turn it off because I was about to throw up. It looked like a teenage girl kissing a grandfather type. Couldn't finish it so can't get a give a full review, but had to turn it off when they were lip locking because it grossed me out so bad. I've seen one other movie in this series and it really wasn't good. Eric Roberts plays a good creepy old man but watching it up close makes me wanna hurl. I don't understand how other people are not weirded out by this.

Him, talking to his subconcious (or whoever his imaginary double was) is the dumbest thing ever! This movie stinks, as if a famous Dr wouldn't be recognized?????? And Beck also would be known! RIDICULOUS!

Eric Roberts is a National Treasure.
rightisright14 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Eric Roberts takes his fourth turn as the insane Dr. Albert Beck, and his imaginary sidekick. He's perfect at hamming things up but not going over the edge. Emilie Ullerup is usually awful in Hallmark movies, but over here on Lifetime, she lets loose with a tour de force performance as a sleepwalking babe. I applaud the brilliant mind that took the Stalked by my Doctor Optus and crossed it with the Sleepwalking in Suburbia cast.

Great Entertainment.
daviddunn-9065311 June 2020
Turn your brain off, suspend reality and you will enjoy this ridiculous movie. Just like its 3 predecessors, this is packed with jokes, romance and a bit of drama. Yes the stories are always far fetched but, for entertainment value, this movie is top notch.

Great delivery on the premise
franklindf8 September 2019
Obviously this movie is meant to satisfy a particular niche, being a light thriller and basically a farce on every level. So no one realistically is going to watch this with any serious intent to watch a thoughtful, sincere movie. But for what it is, the movie succeeds quite well. Since this is part of a movie series, I watched the first one for comparison. I think it's safe to say this latest entry in the series is better by far. The first movie was more serious and believable - the main character was a villain but things were kept to more believable limits. In this movie, any attempts at realism are completely abandoned. The doctor is much larger than life and now he's more of an obsessed maniac who targets his victim with reckless abandon. Eric Roberts really shines in the role, and he seems to enjoy playing this wild and goofy character - he's almost clownlike in such things as how he walks and wears horribly tailored suits and lambasts all sensibility. His character in the first film was much more demur and restrained, and thus much less engaging - Roberts really owns it in this one. Another improvement in this film was the pacing, from the initial setup to conclusion things were more evenly and satisfyingly staggered. In conclusion, I feel like this wasn't just another lame entry in a series to cash in on an undemanding audience - rather it does offer improvement on the original, even though it follows almost exactly the same formula.

Loved it!
deedrala13 September 2020
I know these Stalked by my Doctor movies are over the top, unrealistic, plot holes everywhere you look, and the same basic premise in all 4 (the original and 3 sequels - so far) of them, but by gosh, they're just quirky enough, with just enough cleverly-written comic relief (the wise-cracking alter ego: "At least this one's old enough to drive.."), and with the consistently excellent tour de force performances by one of my all time favorites (Eric Roberts), to be thoroughly enjoyable (which, for me, is rare being as picky as I am).

It's delightfully obvious that Roberts is having as much fun playing the 'sick-brained' (Nicky Bismar hallucination, ha!) but brilliant doctor as we are watching him. I only wish they would keep making sequels but they've just about worn the original premise thin at this point, unfortunately!

I can't believe it took me over a year to finally see this after it came out, but better late than never. I was already pre-judging it before seeing it, thinking it would be lame and unoriginal in dialogue and characters since that's how sequels usually are after the first two or three, but thankfully I was wrong. I rarely, if ever, rate anything 8 - much less 9 - but this fourth installment of Stalked by my Doctor more than deserves it. Kudos to the writers too!

good as previous 3 sequels
NijazBaBs6 October 2019
I am not disappointed by this 4th sequel of Stalked by My Doctor. There is all in one: comedy, thriller, drama, mystery. There are all funny and interesting things I expected to see again: lie, revenge, love, justice, jokes, pranks. Fun to watch, and not boring even for a moment. Hope to see more sequels. Also liked psych ward reality, which from my experience looks exactly like in real life. Showing us how easy it is to mess with somebody's life or be in the wrong place or experience injustice. That part is similar to Unsane (2018) movie. Only did not like the ending which is a more negative than in previous 3 sequels for the main character doctor. There I expected mystery instead of typical arrest like in most movies.
