The devastating floods in Nashville have inundated the Grand Ole Opry House, the most famous country-music venue in the world, and damaged cherished equipment of country artists across Music City. Songwriter Aimee Mayo posted a photo to Twitter on Wednesday, sent to her by country star Kellie Pickler, showing the flooded main hall of the Opry, which sits five miles northeast of the entertainment district. With another year’s awards show coming to an end, the top acts in country music were honored at the 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night (April 18).

Held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the big winners of 2010 were Carrie Underwood as Entertainer of the Year and Lady Antebellum, which picked up five trophies.

'American Idol' vet duetted with Scott MacIntyre on Thursday night.

It's been a while since America has seen Matt Giraud. The Jt-like soul man who was a wild card "American Idol" finalist and recipient of last season's controversial judge's save has been working hard off-the-radar since his fifth-place finish on season eight.

Since his "Idol" run ended, Giraud's been writing songs in Nashville for his debut album, working with such well-known songwriters as Marcus Hummon (Rascal Flatts, Dixie Chicks) and Monty Powell (Keith Urban). "I'm not really going country," he told MTV News last month, "but they appreciate soul down there and I've been playing with them and making great music." So far, he's recorded 15 songs, many of which he co-wrote, and is hoping to amass at least 30 before he starts shopping an album around.

Country singer Chuck Wicks has a lot going for him these days. Not only does he have two hit singles out from his album Starting Now, but he also has Dancing with the Stars album Julianne Hough on his arm. "We're very much in love," the singer tells to People. The two walked the red carpet together for the first time at the Cma Awards earlier this month, and have been gushing about each other ever since. Wicks got to know Hough while touring with Brad Paisley over the summer, and admits that he was anxious around the Dancing star at first.

Brad Paisley was arrested early Sunday morning, October 19 in Nashville for what the 'authorities' cited as "serious crimes." The arrest wasn't real though. It was part of a series of other pranks that his tourmates Jewel Kilcher and Chuck Wicks put him on.

Fox's soap opera/reality series Nashville is the winner -- though not in a good way. It's the first new series of the 2007-08 season to be pulled from the primetime schedule.

Nashville debuted on September 14th and follows a group of aspiring country singers as they navigate their way through the Tennessee music city. Participants include Jamey Johnson, Matt Jenkins, Lindsey Hager, Jeff Allen, Clint Moseley, Chuck Wicks, Rachel Bradshaw, Mika Combs, and Sarah Gunsolus.

The series debuted to a disappointing 2.7 million and viewership dropped to 2.2 million the following week. As a result, Fox has pulled the show from the schedule effective immediately.

Encore airings of K-Ville will take over the Nashville slot on Friday nights for the next two weeks. After that, The Next Great American Band will take over the night with three two-hour episodes.

Fox maintains that episodes of Nashville will "be rescheduled at a later date.
