- TriviaAt least one DVD edition titles this short "Ben Franklin," although Ben's role is fairly small.
- GoofsBenjamin Franklin was accompanied by his 21-year-old son William in the kite experiment. William is nowhere to be seen when Peabody and Sherman witness this event. Remember that this happens *before* Peabody changed the WABAC from a time machine to a "should have been" machine.

Featured review
The original debut offering of . . .
. . . Rocky & Bullwinkle & Friends clearly titles this segment of the Season One, Episode One show as "Peabody's Improbable History: Ben Franklin." Nobody who viewed this 64 years ago when it first came out needs a DVD jewel case to remind them that this particular lesson in Western Civilization concerns the discoverer of bifocals, Franklin stoves and electricity. Because the initial introduction to Peabody and his pet Sherman involves a lot of backstory exposition, Mr. Franklin's participation in his television special is necessarily brief. But, when you get down to brass tax, so are lightning strikes.
