Indie is indie, it's a bad indie movie with all fake reviews and rating. Comedy it's ? To me , this is a high school movie production.

I'm lazy AF and never leave movie feedback but this movie was such a piece of human waste that it motivated me to try and save as many poor souls from wasting precious time they will never get back. Useless toy review videos on YouTube are more entertaining.

Appalling

I don't mind the setting or style of cinematography, but the acting was absolutely terrible. Dialogue was awful and story just seemed to be disconnected.

I suspect this film must appealed to some for the high rating, but this just didn't get me hooked even after 30 minutes.

A film that punches above its weight

A film that makes you think outside the box, keeps you guessing, and is informative in its depictions of mental health. Kevin, one of the leads, reminded me of a modern day Randall P. McMurphy of Cuckoo's Nest fame, and Earl and Teddy were like comic book characters I've never seen before, and I mean that in a good way. I like that at the beginning of the film there were no credits that drag out the intro, which always seems a waste of time in films. Instead when we see text or the credits they are the descriptions of the main characters themselves, thought that was a nice touch, and kind of Goddardesque.

Stylish indie caper

A Safe Place is a black comedy-drama about three people living in a home. We follow the escapades of Earl, Kevin and Teddy as their support workers struggle to keep up with their world. This unblinking portrait of England's modern care system could have made for heavy viewing, but the film's playful heist elements, stylish film noir tendencies and gentle upbeat vibe come together in a way which is funny, troubling and hopeful all at once. An atmospheric, intriguing and fun little indie film with a lot of heart.

Funny and Touching

This film kicks ass, not literally but in a the way a film should- it's social realism at it's finest, and trust me, I don't like the social realism of the Ken Loach variety, except for Looking For Eric and Kes. I digress. Essentially, this film, A Safe Place, is about three people that live in a care home, and one of them steals the safe, which is sort of a ploy in the story, a focal point to a greater issue at hand, which I won't and can't say. A Safe Place takes a subject matter that could have been heavy and boring, and makes it fun.

I randomly saw this pop up on Amazon Prime so I decided to watch it. I didn't know what to expect, but what I got was a phenomenal film about the lives of people in a similar vein to the work of Cassavetes. It delivers.

Odd film, quirky, not sure odd is the right word. I'll just say it was up my street, Not that I'm odd. And I'm not sure it's everyone's bowl of soup, but I certainly recommend it.

British Indie film Gold

Some great performances, really liked a lot of the settings and atmosphere, cool music too that was at times quirky. The actor who plays Kevin is very good, like to see more of him. Lots of other fine actors too. The prostitutes, the crazy guy Frank is in your face, and Earl and Oberon who seem to live in some parallel universe. The treatment of a care home in modern day Britain rang true for me having experience in that sector, and which intrigued me to watch. John Henry Westhead of Clerks fame directed this one and apparently he has a couple of more bigger budget movies coming soon?

Highly recommend this film

I woke up the morning after seeing this film thinking about it. That should say it all. The film shows an honest glimpse into the lives of its characters revealing both the dark and light side of humanity. I don't want to say too much more about it because I turned it on not knowing what to expect and loved the surprises each scene walked me into. Great acting and thoughtful and clever directing. Highly recommend

Very Enjoyable Comedy on Mental Health and More

Very good film on 17 Albion Street, care home for adults with various mental health issues. I thought this film treated the subject with honesty and care. I've worked many years in care homes similar to 17 Albion Street and this film rings true to what it is like and it does it with humour. When one thinks of care homes, we often think of the elderly and it can sound depressing but this film is far from depressing. It is uplifting and a joy.
