Looks like CN movies are becoming more of a thing
daviddevilliers549 June 2020
As a whole, this movie was okay. I was actually pretty excited for it ever since it was announced. We Bare Bears is an underrated show that surprised me on so many levels. It's a modern culture show done right. After Regular Show and Steven Universe getting movies, it's interesting to see this show be next in line to get a movie.

The story is okay. It starts off very slow and most of the jokes felt forced. As a whole, most of them were cringey. However, once the climax hits, it is so much better. The ending was well done.

A somewhat disappointing, but enjoyable ride
aidanratesmovies9 November 2020
Having always been an avid fan of this series, I was a bit disappointed when the film adaptation didn't make it to theaters, but seeing the result, I can understand why. It isn't that it is bad in anyway, it's just not the strongest the film could have been, which is a bit disappointing considering its the end of the series. However, through some magic on the sweet side of things, the film can be quite charming, providing a decent amount of chuckles throughout, as well as quite heartwarming with an ending that truly wraps things up quite nicely. Some moments of the film can be a bit predictable, a bit familiar, and even a bit cringy. There things you have seen countless times before in films of similar plot and nature, and I just wish that throughout the process of making it they could have found a way to be a bit more original. The film also has a very different feel from the series itself, with the original tv show being rather lighthearted fun, never anything too deep. The film however seems to almost be going for a social commentary kind of approach, which I mean does fit given the films circumstances, but feels a bit out of place in the whole scheme of things. In the end, I enjoyed this film. It wasn't great, and certainly not the best film adaptation of a cartoon i have seen, but more often than not I enjoyed myself, and it left me with a smile on my face.

My Rating: 5.5/10.

Amazing Movie... if you've seen the show.
quentb2 July 2020
We Bare Bears is a rare type of show that uses internet and cringe humor right. Let me address the elephant in the room, the "meme" humor. The memes that they use are extremely outdated and not funny... and they know that. Unlike something like the Emoji Movie, the film knows you'll grown, and that's the point. They don't reference Gangnam Style and expect you to laugh, it's to make fun of how dated and tacky people who think that kind of pandering is. The other huge thing is the runtime, 1 hour and 9 minutes. While that is disappointing, it's perfect for the story the writers wanted to tell. I'd rather have 1 hour and 9 minutes of movie then 21 extra minutes of filler. The movie has moments and characters that mean more to the fans of the show, but there is enjoyment for older and newer viewers.

Kinda cringy, but not bad
zaidbhussain1 January 2021
The entire movie felt like a parody of every internet thing out there from memes to dance moves and I found it kinda cringy to watch. Also, out of nowhere, the bears are suddenly talking like modern-day teens as opposed to their more adult-like speech from before. But the movie was good. I would've preferred more screen time for Chloe, Ranger Tabes etc. but meh. It was okay.

Overall: good.

Pros: It was enjoyable, the ending is pretty good. Cons: Goddamn, for real, can we bare bears get any more cringy? This movie was CRINGE and a bit boring at the beginning. I'm glad the last part was alright.

a Movie with all the essence of we bare bears.
goldenawards6 November 2020
The film besides showing the life of the bears from the beginning, shows everything that was seen in the whole series, but now with a big village, it is not a big story but it is far from being a bad film.

RATING:6.7/10

Loved it
klinkins9 June 2020
It a really good movie for all ages and really sweet throughout the run time. I do wish there was more chole and Charlie but it can't be helped. The ending is really good and shows that you don't have to be blood to be family. I really hope they work the new bears into the show next season.

I'm alititl new critic so..
nourmhnnd16 August 2020
If we take into account the positives of the film, which are, there are many people who still do not believe in the difference and diversity among creatures (racial diversity), and it is beautiful to respect and coexist with each other and we and other creatures together in complete adaptation and harmony for a healthier future. The negatives of the film are that the jokes and the comic style are old and antagonistic and have passed over a lot, and its animation style was also the same as it was in the series, but with somewhat less quality and the voices of the characters are sharp and dull, while I did not attract the attention of children more.

It didn't have that spark for me

Warning: Spoilers
I don't know if it was the irony of the meme scene or the boring villain. But it didn't have the spark I loved. I had to wait for this movie too come out on cartoon network. Honestly it wasn't worth it for me. I am a huge fan of the show and was disappointed when it was canceled. From scene one i was already was questioning the Writers Decision, To have all the bears just being at the same forest, At the same time. I just didn't feel the spark.

Bear stack
MB-reviewer1853 August 2022
I like the We Bare Bears show that ran from 2014 to 2019, it is funny and entertaining. Basically, We Bare Bears: The Movie (2020) is what I like about the show.

I like the main 3 bears and their brother dynamic. They are voiced by good voice actors, and they can be funny with certain moments of dialogue. Also, they are animated with personality.

The animation is still good and at times can look pretty. There are shots of a forest or the woods that are nice to look at, and there are fun action scenes that look great in the animation style.

I would watch this movie if you do not have much to do and you want a simple entertaining animated movie based off the show. You do not have to watch the show, but I think you should check it out when given a chance.

Could've done so much more with the show
huskzhuskygamer4 August 2021
I feel like they could have finished the show instead of ending with a movie, the movie was enjoyable but I am sad that they left it their with a bunch of loose string just waiting to be tied up. I might have missed episodes where they tied everything up but for now, 6 stars.

good idea, ok jokes, bad writing.
moseskiker7 December 2020
When I saw this movie it started off strong staying true to its show counterpart but oh, did it take off from there immediately getting into conflict just because these bears broke the internet which is one way it makes itself timely. anyway, it does represent something stronger which I like but it makes it so hard to watch cause it's just really bad writing and it's just so frustrating. I can't even explain how bad this movie is it's just bad. I do not suggest watching this because it's that bad. the plot is rushed as heck and is very much made to stick with old times. trying to rely on ancient memes from the early 2000s. so my thoughts on this movie? it's just plain bad I would not watch this at all. anyway this is just my opinion and I do not wish that this movie should not exist, it's still a good finale and an ok movie but I was just simply let down by it please do not come after me for this.

Witty and Clever
johcccc1 July 2020
The show has lots of social commentary that addresses immigration, integration, and the fickleness of human nature. It is very well-thought out and enjoyable to watch, not to mention that it leaves the audience reflecting on current American society. Some reviews say that the movie is "cringey," but the messages being delivered throughout the film overweigh whatever some might call "cliché." (It really was not cringey at all; there are many other films that are way more cringe-worthy, and that do not deliver a purposeful message as well as We Bare Bears did.) The movie goes into depth about real issues in a way that is extremely fascinating to see. It is not a long movie, so I highly recommend giving it your time.

Socialist propaganda for your kids
msporter-179145 July 2020
My kids loved the tv show and we're excited to see the movie. Once again we were completely disappointed by the fact the the makers couldn't just let it be a fun movie for kids. They turned it into socialist propaganda for kids. The whole movie is about how evil the Police in the US are and they have them dressed in full military gear. The bears try to escape the evil police to Canada where they are "more accepting of all kinds." When the reach the border Ice bear says "I can't wait for universal healthcare." These are literally lines from the movie....

Hard to understand and follow throughout Movie
treyverjonziessler17 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In the beginning of the film it starts out with the Bears pretty much running through people causing havoc including a child jumping on a trampoline they pushed off the transpoline at a height that would normally severely harm a child. I understand it a cartoon but its important for what Im about to say. Eventually the bears go to a courtroom and apologize for their actions with the viral stream destroying phones and computers. But instead of an understanding the crowd wants them to be severely punished. Now remember how I said at the beginning how the bears caused Havoc? Its understandable for the crowd to be upset. Thats why its hard to understand the moral of the movie.

This next part further goes into it, A man arrives taking control of the situation and saying bears belong in nature but show a cage where he wants them locked up to where they cant cause anymore harm. Now taking in consideration the havoc they called this does make sense. Thats a punishment that legitimately would happen for a human being. The crate they were forced in was unhumain and it was very messed up what was going on. If anything Id say the film was about raising awareness of poachers. Not about as the writers say about its okay to be different.

Nothing adds up, the moral does not align with the story what so ever. It just felt forced by the writers and randomly implemented.

Is it a good movie? Yes its a good film and an enjoyable one just ignore all the political stuff and its quite enjoyable. Do I think the movie couldve been better? Definitely!

What I would've done differently, I wouldve stuck with the plot of the bears being judged by the crowd but instead of the bears at the beginning causing havoc. I wouldve created a clip of the bears when they are little coming across a group of kids and they dont let them play with them because they are 'vicious bears'. Then the story would've planted the seed that its about the actual moral the writers spoke on.

Throughout the story it could show hints of flashback clips of incidents where they are treated differently. Then they decide to run away because they are so hurt by society and come across the social media party that takes place in the movie. Once they go in they see other bears there smiling and taking photos and just being themselves. They get an inspiring speech and back to society to face the issue. They begin a protest and hold hands, saying we aren't scary.

I don't know Im not a writer or a director but thats what I would've done instead and itd really make a lot of sense then.
