Jon Cryer
songod-9500321 May 2020
Many actors have played Lex Luthor, from Lyle Talbot in the late 1940's through Gene Hackman. I feel tho that Jon Cryer is one of the best, maybe THE best tho that is bold to say.

IMO he has saved this show from becoming a "meh" to watch to a "must see".

Warning: Spoilers
Absolutely amazing two things: -Lena calling Lex a monster and finally back to Kara.
  • Alex potentially using a mask(? Love to see it in the future

What will happen on the finale? Leviathan has kryptonite and Lex wants to kill Kara.

LENA LUTHOR DOES IT ALL
rebsantos15 May 2020
Slow boring episode as all the others from season 5b. But Lena is definitely the highlight of it by shutting down that stupid project and finally leaving Lex's side. And in the end, Lena was the one who actually fought for her soul while Kara was too busy playing "romance" with that britsh dude that no one cares about.

DEO is dead and Miss McGrath shines again.

Warning: Spoilers
9 out 10 because DEO is finally dead and as always miss Katie mcgrath's acting in last scene. That scene literally stoles the whole episode. Lena being her own hero and saving her own soul from dark side. I wish I could hug her she deserves everything. The conflict between brainia and supercorp is breaking my heart.

YES LENA!

Warning: Spoilers
I am so happy that she has finally told Lex what she thinks about all of this and who she really thinks he is, and especially when she said that she isn't a monster like him! Amazing acting delivered by Katie and Jon! And Lena is finally fixing her relationship with Kara 😄 But the only thing that is off is that Kara is so distant and really cold towards Lena, also that she accused Lena of being the culprit was a little off character I think. Also that Alex was defending Lena was surprising😂. But overall the episode was really good, I loved it :)

STRONGER TOGETHER
shipperofships11 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not even going to rant too much. I am too happy that Kara and Lena FINALLY will work together next ep. And we all know that when these two work together, they can do everything and beat everyone.

I was amazed by Katie McGrath's performance in this episode. I mean, I always am but her acting in this ep was just superb! The way she acts with her eyes, with her facial expressions. That scene with Jon screaming and Katie trying not to flinch and then delivering that amazing "You're a monster. But that doesn't mean I have to be one too." STELLAR It was the perfect depiction of an abused person finally breaking free. Yes, it was triggering but it was also very uplifting to witness.

Once again, the chemistry Katie and Melissa have is just unmatched. Pure magic. They don't even have to talk. That silence when Kara opened the door was electric. Let them have more scenes together because the show is at its prime when they do!

The fact that Lena became her own hero and she turned out to be the biggest fighter for her soul was... ok. I hoped that, for once, the poor girl won't have to do everything on her own but it's fine, I guess.

I only sincerely hope that after Lena apologized to Kara, Kara will also do the same in the next episode. And then they talk. A lot. They need it if they want to get back to their friendship. They show better not make them best friends again without them talking everything out because that would be awful storytelling.

Also, will the show ever touch upon how Lena was abused her whole life? They're showing it to us but they don't really acknowledge it. Sending Lena to therapy in season 6 and her talking about it with someone, if done right, would be a great character arch.

Brainy and Nia... My poor children. Give them a break and let them kiss it all out! They both deserve happiness. Also, it's interesting how no one is calling Brainy a villian for working with Lex like they all did with Lena. Hmmm...

Alex getting her storyline in the last eps? Great! But it should've happen earlier in the season. It doesn't mean I'm not excited tho!

Dansen. Give us more Dansen! There's so little of them on the show and it's sad because currently that's the only healthy relationship the show hasn't managed to ruin. Yet...

Leviathan. I still don't know who they are and what they want... And that's bad and NOT my fault, it's on you writers.

DEO finally being destroyed and it better stays that way! Should've happened 5/4 seasons ago.

And William... Ehh What's that guy there for, except for nohomoing Kara...? He's so unnecessary and I hate that the last episode of the season will probably focus on his kidnapping. Like someone cares? If anything, I am team Eve! Sorry, Staz, but not even your charm can make me like the character. They did you SO dirty. They should've let William be Kara's pal from work and it wouldn't be so irritating but they don't even hide what's the purpose of the character and it is so annoying.

All in all, the episode had bad and good moments. But the fact that supercorp is FINALLY on the same page (at least I hope so!) outweighs all the bad things.

El Mayarah!

convoluted meaningless plots come to a head
glstrom-1426015 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I keep hoping week after week that Supergirl will be super and not get her a$$ handed to her again by evil forces with Kryptonite dispensers in their pockets. I guess some people just get into the "ships" and don't care much about stupid multiple ridiculous plot lines designed to bring characters together in soap opera quality scenes of love, betrayal, revenge, reconciliation, rinse repeat. Make up your mind Brainy (and since when can you fly) and stop being such a dick. That is Lex's job (who should have stayed dead so at least Leviathan plot line was less murky). Nice the martians are hitting it off though really don't need fancy spacesuit if you're going to show up 10 minutes late to prevent end of world) Lex went to quite a lengthy effort to prove sister wrong, and thankfully someone told him what a monster he is...finally. Make up and break up replay with Kara is was old after the first 3 times, let's hope this time it sticks and they can join forces professionally to do some good. DOE was a useless tool and won't be missed except being a shiny weapons filled hang out for the gang, time to move on, maybe rent a room at Catco since that place isn't getting much play. Good luck sorting all this out and please Supergirl, for the love of Krypton be SUPER.
