Street racers, nudity, hot dogs and strange cars
konstantin_felixov16 November 2008
This movie is the pinnacle of Bosnian and redneck drivers kicking Russian asses in the German underground. The plot consists of a family garage, love and life at stake and a gangster thrown in for not much reason. Then there is good vs. evil vs. not –so-sure, which, by far, is the best part. While the movie tries to deliver the feeling of a German underground racing mixed with family and emotional values it fails at the very heart of it - the racing part. The racing drivers are cruising with an A4 and a police BMW 5th series (not to be confused with M5) doing their usual police/theft chases and through the night they are racing Fords, Nissans and… not much more! Add the famous Z4 Coupe just to make sure you get how much of 'real' racers they are.

The 'gangster' has a Bentley and a few Ferraris in the garage, but of course they are not so fast. Let's just not mention how famous Europeans are for their love of Japanese and especially American cars as it is well described in Top Gear, Fifth Gear, every car magazine ant the sales charts... Then there is the fact that within 250 km. range from the filming location there are about 20 faster serial models being produced...well let's forget about that. I blame the low budget for not letting one of those cars get involved, but that is part of the 'magical' experience in my view. On the positive note there are some kick-ass driving in the movie. Acting is not that cheesy, although you could hardly like most of the characters, they are good enough to provoke some emotional attachments. I give it 4 out of 10 because it is a good try for the German cinema. Although, I have no idea what Germany had to do with it. The classy act from the main two racers makes up for the step from 3 to 4. A mediocre time waster if you got a lot of it.

Erin Cahill does a good job struggling through the script
nogodnomasters28 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Katie Reed (Erin Cahill) can't make money with an auto repair shop because she spends all her money on hot cars she uses to race illegally in the streets and make wagers. Her boyfriend is a cop (Andrew W. Walker) who races one of the cars...and is looking for a gang of robbers. Eric (Joseph Beattie) is a pizza delivery boy who wants to race cars and Nicole (Alexia Barlier) is a rich woman who likes thrills and pays to build a car. To the dismay of her boyfriend, Katie doesn't use money to pay the interest on her shop loan, a shop she is going to lose unless she can raise $50,000 in a few days. I think you got the picture.

The plot is formulaic making it nearly impossible to create a decent character. Erin Cahill does a good job struggling through the script, the rest was cardboard. Dialog needed some help.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity

Poor Fast and the Furious copy
lowang0021 February 2008
What do you need to make a good film? Naked Women, Cars, a copied story? Of course not and that's why Fast Track - No Limits isn't a good film. I can't understand how someone can invest money in making such a film. The film is technically well done but what is this good for when the story is so stupid. The Fast and the Furious obviously hasn't the same story, it has a much better one, Fast Track tries to copy the key elements of it. The writers of Fast Track didn't had any idea worth to make a movie of it, although they made this and it's a cheek. 3 stars for the quality of the production. 0 stars for the story. It really hurts to watch this film and in my opinion it is a huge waste of money and a disgrace for the German film industry, which shouldn't try to copy Hollywood movies.

Not Uwe Boll
p-stepien17 March 2010
Which is hardly a compliment. But at least the quality is of high standard. The acting starts off on a very low note, but reaches average by the end of this flick.

The story is a follows: Year 2008. In an alternate universe Germany is apparently a British colony (everyone speaks British English, even German policemen amongst themselves). In this Shakespearen language loving country the new craze is street car racing. Naturally these go hand in hand with hot crazed chicks and crooks. Katie Reed (Erin Cahill) is an orphaned kid, whose only heirloom is a body-shop and repair-shop. Indebted she tries to do everything possible to get $60 000, including having sex with the bank representative. And she has three days to do so.

As she has two expensive race cars she decides to push up the ante and risk the cars for some street-car racing gambling. Honestly each of the cars looks to be worth some $50000-$60000. But instead of selling them she decides its better to risk them crashing and becoming worthless. I understand she's sentimental but we are told that the repair shop is the dearest thing on earth for her, not the cars... so why just not sell one of the two cars to get out of debt? That essentially is how ridiculous the plot is (that and for instance people cheering the winner of a race, whilst another car is burning and the driver may well be blown up any second now... and really no one actually wants this guy to die). Fortunately productions creds are very high and it looks like a decent budget was thrown into making this movie. Car chases are well choreographed (?) and if you like that kind of thing you may well ignore the stupidity of the characters and the shallowness of the script.

Bad story, bad cars, bad acting.
max-a-mn27 October 2009
The acting and storyline were worse than Starship Troopers... I was hoping to be entertained by this film since I am into tuner cars, all that. I was disappointed by cheap, old, ugly cars. Honestly my Mitsubishi Eclipse would destroy 90% of the cars in this movie. This movie was made in 2008? The clothes people were wearing, even if this is in Germany, reflected the clothing our parents wore in the early 90s that we have tried to forget. Also, the movie had a yellow tint to it for a good portion of the movie, which made it even more cheesy. With the bad camera angles used, I am fully confident that a few friends and myself could make a better movie. Thank goodness it only cost me $1 from red box to rent this; lord knows how it even made it into the red box machine.

Pretty good Street Racing movie
dino_saur33314 August 2008
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's an FnF clone. Anyone whose seen that movie just can't help but make a comparison (including myself). I'm pretty sure some of you out there are thinking 'it's just a carbon copy of FnF.' Well, the truth is it's not. it may be in the genre of street racing but it's not a straight up FnF clone. In some ways, it's better than The Fast and the Furious. What is is is a riveting drama that tells the story four separate people who can only be connected by their love for pure, unbridled speed.

The plot is driven by the personal pursuits of each individual character; Katie with her home garage on the brink of foreclosure, Mike with his need to prove himself on the street, Eric with his desire for control of his life, and Nicole with her need to spice up her life.

Each personal conflict of these characters makes them more real and more relatable than that of the characters in the FnF series who were a bit bland and plastic. And the actors themselves gave quite a good performance as well.

The action sequences were not that bad either. The racing sequences were well done but not exaggerated to the point of ridiculous. If only this movie had the same budget given to Hollywood movies then maybe we could've really seen some fireworks.

All in all, it's a movie worth watching. Don't expect any award-winning stuff but that's not the point of this movie.

A very good parody
lgibelli10 January 2009
Warning: Spoilers
If it were a parody of Fast & furious it would be a really good movie. Tragically the director of this B-movie was serious about it. During the movie we assist to many ... "stunts", some of them are done with cars, others are done with the plot. A friend of 'pizza boy' loses a race and as a result the opponent cuts his hand: 'pizza boy' arrives and incidentally he has got a box of ice with a bottle of champagne in the back of his car. Obviously it's normal for any German pizza boy to drive around the city always with a bottle of chilled champagne. And it's indeed a good idea, because if you happen to meet somebody who just lost a hand, you can always throw away the champagne and put the hand inside ice, while you reach the nearest hospital. And that's exactly what 'pizza boy' does. Another good laugh is courtesy of the scene when some thieves are arrested: a policeman throws a bottle of his pee in the air and shoot it. Caught by surprise, all these bad ass criminals stop and stand still in horror, totally defeated. And they get arrested. I cannot believe that other users commented that the plot is poor, but technically the movie is well done. I'd rather say that the plot well suits the technical level of the movie. Even a casual spectator would notice the amateurish quality of this movie: take for example the scene when pizza boy and girl enter the abandoned hangar at the airport. She opens a regular door! Only a few scenes before, the mechanic from the garage had gladly announced that a brand new pair of vertical doors have been installed in the car because they look such cool. Where are they now?

No reinvention of the genre....but still quite good
nsobers12 May 2008
Argue all you want that its a fast & furious clone, but take the time to recognize this movie on its own merits. Budget was obviously an issue in this film and anyone who is into the street racing scene or racing in general will realize the obvious plot holes, but as pure entertainment this flick is a standout. Lots of adrenaline rush scenes and sexy hot action with actors and actresses who despite knowing that there will be no Oscars for their performances put their all into it. to sum it up....you've seen this flick before in one guise or the next, but don't let that stop you from spending some time with Fast Track: No Limits...its not a great time, but its worth the admission price.

Great Movie!!
luvlatinfilms23 November 2009
Fast Track is going to be available in hotels across the US starting December 1st, 2009. So now you know, on your next trip, if one night you just want to stay in the room and watch and exciting movie, this is the one!!! If you like movies where you can feel the adrenaline and excitement while you are watching it; I would recommend it to you for sure! You will see scenes that would race your heart, full of action and velocity. But at the same time, the drama side of this movie would make you understand why these four people have so much passion for speed. And of course, heart racing would have to be mixed up with hot sexy scenes.

OK Movie..Not what i expected
trd_camry9613 October 2009
Warning: Spoilers
OK Movie, I guess. The characters acting is somewhat dumb and off. The only part that interested me was the naked boob...lol. I expect this movie to be an good action racing movie, but it turn out to be a low budget film clone FnF. Why did i said low budget? Well the cars used it the movies was old school and the characters are not that popular. 87 -92 supra and 90s mr2? hahahha i expect to see some 09 skyline or NSX. I didn't notice any familiar actors. Maybe they are famous in Germany but not to the USA. The scene where the cop threw his pee to capture the thieves was also stupid and awkward to add to the movie (i wonder if that is how they capture thieves in Germany).

An unexpectedly fun street racing / car chasing movie.
chris_imdb-29 August 2009
My expectation for this movie was a pathetic story used largely as an excuse to show hot girls and expensive custom cars driving fast with lots of bikinis and street-racing / car chasing action, which has been the standard for the popular street-racing films from Hollywood recently. Surprisingly this movie, while still keeping the many stereotypical themes from this genre, had a story that was well thought-out, unpredictable, and became an excellent foundation upon which to build the street-racing and car chasing action I was looking for.

Unfortunately there were some unfortunate goofs in the movie and the dialog was very weak at times -- I believe it could have been much better than it was.

This movie is also missing some of the big expensive and flashy action scenes from Hollywood street-racing movies. However, looking back on the movie I feel this served to make the movie more real and less imaginary. Writing as someone who views "The Fast and The Furious" as Hollywood's pathetic attempt at making a respectable street-racing movie I was able to watch this movie and, at long last, actually care about how winning or losing street-races impacted the story being told. The ending turned out to be a lot simpler than I would have preferred but it did bring the story full circle to a satisfying conclusion.

And I hope the reference to the Initial-D anime (with the cup of water in the car) was intentional, it was a nice touch.
