Sex & Nudity

  • Frequent full frontal male and female nudity, usually in a non-sexual context, as well as two sex scenes - one is clothed and relatively rough while the other features lots of moaning and thrusting.

Violence & Gore

  • Around a dozen people are shown kidnapped; they are forced to stand outside and are then shot to death by several men with machine guns. No blood is seen and this is a pretty surreal scene so it's not intense.
  • Repeated thumping sounds are heard from somewhere off-screen and eventually the audience is shown a woman repeatedly punching a man in the face; the beating itself is obscured by a shelf but blood splatters onto the woman's hands.
  • A television screen shows a dead man with blood around his throat but nothing graphic is seen.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This is a very tense and unsettling film with occasional disturbing and surreal scenes that don't make sense in the context.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A character suddenly picks up a knife and slices the throat of a young boy; blood spray is shown and he convulses while bleeding out with the wound shown in closeup. This is revealed to be a hallucination but is still disturbing.
  • A man places a handgun in his mouth and begs for his lover to pull the trigger for him; the lover very abruptly obliges, causing blood to splatter onto the wall behind the man. This is very sudden and shocking.
  • A man attacks a man on a playground, stabbing him in the stomach and slashing the back of his leg with a knife, seemingly killing him; he is revealed to be alive and tries to run but is caught by the woman, who begins to stab him in the back. There is very little blood or gore but it's a very intense scene.
